Connecticut gets the credit for developing modern college football. Sure, Princeton-Rutgers played the first intercollegiate match but it sure sounds more like rugby to me. Walter Camp of Yale invented the line of scrimmage, downs and the scoring system. That kinda sounds like today's football to me. Not just that, if you go by the NCAA's own list of recognized champions (and why wouldn't you); the state of Connecticut has more NCAA CFB title winners than any other state. My point is, college football is in Connecticut's DNA. The day season tickets go on sale for UConn in a P4 conference is the day season tickets sell out.
