Solomon Ball, one of UConn's five vaunted Class of 2023 signees, sat behind the Huskies' bench on Tuesday and was introduced to a loud ovation during a timeout.

Asked about UConn's impressive start to the season, Ball said: "It's great to see. I saw it in the beginning. That's why I ended up choosing this school. I see myself fitting in right away."

He added that he knew UConn would be real good this season.

"I did, I really did. I thought people were sleeping on them in the beginning, and also the class we're bringing in, too. To follow up with great strength the following year is going to be really special."

Im certain that these recruits are all 5x more amped now that we are crushing. It makes me think about guys like Diggins, and Floyd and how they might be feeling. I'm sure they didn't expect us to be this good or else they'd have stayed. Just a strange headspace they all must be in at the moment

I think you have it backwards - at a minimum they were told that they needed to improve greatly or they'd be riding the pine and most were told to move on. So they did. And we backfilled with better and more veteran players.
