Well, at least the Liberty got the win before Armageddon.

Not sure WNBA players (or league) can afford this nuclear option

Holly Rowe says teams are meeting now on the court and discussing it.

Honest question, what would the WNBA players boycotting games accomplish?

My guess is they play tonight until they can talk to all parties including owners etc. They would be sacrificing a lot more than the NBA players.

ESPN saying Mystics don't want to play tonight/other 5 teams playing today DO want to play. Washington held out, now no games at all.

Wonder how many more dominoes will fall in other sports.

1 outvotes 5? Makes sense. They could've forced Washington to forfeit.

They can’t be divided. They have to stick together. Not sure it was a great decision unless ESPN2 is giving two hours coverage to the boycott.

The whole season is about the BLM movement and "say her name" message. Unity was the only way. I support the players choice.
Not sure "choice" is the right word but I hope they try to have some realistic goals and endgame.

Why would "choice" not be the right word?

I know we arent supposed to be political on the forum, and I hope my post isnt meant to be, but their choice is to survive and be able to walk the streets and live in no fear and equality. If it means canceling a game, or more, than so be it.

It sounds like in the beginning of the discussions, the majority wanted to protest in a different way but for the sake of unity, they are boycotting.

Regardless of how they got there, the players made a choice to be united and take a stand. Listen to Nneka's interview and you will understand how they came to this decision. It was indeed a choice.

I don't understand why you choose to diminish a tough decision.

Actually they are striking (withholding their labor) as opposed to boycotting (withholding their money). I imagine that some of the players on the Mystics must have made a strong case for not playing. I'm glad the teams decided to present a united front.

The commissioner is hoping tonight’s games will be a postponement over a cancellation.
