No. I've been to one Big East tournament game about 4 years ago when we lost to St. John's in the first round. If I remember correctly there was no beer.
 
Yes on the beer. Be prepared to fork over $10 for something worthwhile drinking.

You'll like the re-do of the place.

Where is the 'crowd' congregating before game??? Any consensus? Stouts?

Back in 2004, at the Pre season nit tourny I think, they did not serve beer at the Garden! If I remember correctly it was because of an issue from the previous year.

BUT every game since then they have let the sweet nector flow!

last I heard The Thirsty Fan (formerly called The Irish Times Pub) is were alumni was going to meet before thursday's game but I haven't heard anything about friday yet.
 
Went to the Barclay's game against maryland and going to Friday's game (Indiana or Washington). Can't go to Thursday's game, wife has me on a cap.
 
+1 fri night...heard from Uconn that the bench will be in front of section 6 for fridays game.
 
I'll be there Friday. I bought a ticket for Thursday as well, but will not be able to use it. If anyone wants my ticket, just let me know. It's just 1 seat, 100-level corner.
 
I'll be there Thursday. Probably will go Friday as well since I plan on driving through NYC Friday en route to Philly for the football game. Nice little Uconn weekend.
 
I went to the game against Dook in 2009. They did not serve beer and it was a very, very long night. I think this is because it was the Preseason NIT and the NIT is now owned by the NCAA.

Can't go because I'm working all day and night Friday on a big upgrade this weekend, sigh.

Went to see them last year vs. NC State and I assure you they were serving beer.
 
I am +2, section 114.

Also the UConn NYC Alumni Association is having a Pre-Game Happy Hour Reception at The Irish Times Pub at 5:30 (right across from MSG) before the BCU game. If I get to the city early enough I will probably stop in.
 
Thurs and Fri...5 tix each night. With the boys on Thursday, with the family on Friday. Well lubricated before both tip-offs.

It's actually not horrendous given beer prices at your NYC bars.. $10-12 gets you a 24 ounce beer of your choice and they have a decent selection

I'd definitely take it, I have a friend who's trying to go (a UConn fan)

Making the trek from Cali. Pumped.

Have one extra Friday ticket to sell if anyone's interested. $80 seats but will take less from a UConn fan. PM me.
 
Will be there Friday Night +2, Section 102. I will be meeting up with some buddies at Stout NYC.
