It appears his time at Texas is coming to an end unless he turns things around. IF he gets fired at Texas one would think he would not be in line for a major P5 job if one opens up.

Why not take a no risk job at UConn and pull off a turn around that brings the program back to life. His name alone works for recruiting.

Grab a few northern coaches that can recruit the north and atlantic coast. Why not?

*I'm just trying to create a fantasy to help relieve some of the pain of yesterday and the certain pain of tomorrow.

You have to believe this is the last stop for Brown and I can't imagine the guy would want to go from Texas to a job in a going nowhere conference. The next coach here needs to be someone younger, more aggressive with some fresh ideas. A guy like that will probably view this job as a stepping stone, but so be it.

This. Young, aggressive, creative and energetic

Well I like the Texas connection. A guy like Philip Montgomery at Baylor might be someone to consider.

Brown will retire and receive a sendoff stressing the good he had done at UT (ignoring how inept they have been basically since they won the title).

Dodds won't embarrass him but there is no way he is there after this season ends.

I'll be UCONN's next HC before Mac Brown is. Wrong on so many levels.......

Brown.....seriously? He can't compete at a school with unlimited recruits and cash..and you think he would work out at a school with very limited recruits and cash?

Might as well keep PP if you want an older coach who underachieves.

Bo Pellini will also be on the market soon. I'd rather give him a shot.

Seriously...no I really wasn't hence the asterisk*. I'd say he was competitive for some of his time there...and then some.

No Mack Brown for me, but I will take Major Applewhite perhaps.

Mack Brown has been mailing it in for years. It's just catching up with him now. He exactly what we don't need.

Mack Brown isn't leaving UT - he will bounce into the AD in another role.
