It's unfortunate that SNY would choose to blackout the games in certain areas of the northeast. There are so many UConn fans that would love to have access to their broadcast of the women's and men's games. One would think that a bargain can be struck somewhere in the middle that satisfies both SNY, and the end user.
I'm in Southern Calif. I too have DirecTV. I have the sports package added to my account only for the 4 months during the season. That's the main reason I stay with DirecTV. None of the local cable companies, nor Dish Satellite carries SNY.
I tape all of the games in case I'm unable to watch it live. I'm fortunate. Between SNY, ESPN and CBS sports, I get ALL of the women's games.
You folks living in the northeast should not be shut out from having access to the games. There should be some way the blackouts can be lifted. Where there's a will, there's a way. Lift the local area blackouts, and give UConn a percentage of the take, then everybody is happy. I hope this wrong is made right before the season begins, so that
all of us can enjoy the games.
