the crawl says they might lose video for a couple of minutes, due to a "sun outage". That sounds rather significant! Do they know something we don't?

It's a sun outage. The sun and the satellite align, and the rays of the sun overpower the signals from the satellite for a few minutes:

i lost mine, too (i'm on Comcast). Turned the cable box off for 30 seconds then back on and got the broadcast back
