SNY/Directv Issue?

I have the Directv Sports Pack and tuned in to SNY (channel 639) to watch the Geno Auriemma show and the Tulsa game replay but got a message saying this game is blacked out on this channel. Weird since I was able to watch the game live last night and SNY has never been blacked out at all. Anyone else having this issue?

I called Directv and there doesn't seem to be anything wrong on their end. SNY pre-empted with a press conference about the Baseball Hall of Fame inductions and that was broadcast but as soon as it was over it went back to the 'game not available in your area' message. I wonder if this is an ESPN change in broadcast rights?

South Carolina. This is the third season I have had the Sports Pack for SNY (UConn games) and never had a game blacked out live or replay.

I live in upstate New York. Mike Piazza was voted into the baseball HOF and we got one of his ballgames instead of the Geno show and the game. I'm assuming it was done in his honor.

The FCC should really do something about these blackouts. Living in CT, and having Directv, I am blacked out of all of the New York Knick games on MSG. They claim that the region I live in is Boston Celtic territory................and, I pay extra to Directv to get their Sports Package.

Funny thing, but I just checked tomorrows schedule on the "Guide", and it does not show the UConn/Houston Game as it is posted on the UConn website. Just saw that it is going to be telecast on ESPN2.

The Geno Auriemma show was also blacked out. Looks like it's all UConn related programming. At 5'oclock here (after the game replay) SNY came back on the air with a local sports show.

The UConn-Tulsa replay was pre-empted this afternoon in CT (Thur) to show Mets programming.

I think I see what happened. NY Met programming pre-empted whatever was going to be broadcast at that time on SNY. It was NY Met programming that was blacked out not UConn. I was able to see the Hall of Fame press conference because that was not a NY Met's production. It was an MLB production. As soon as that ended NY Met programming took over and I had a blank screen again. Nothing to worry about regarding UConn basketball.....I think.

Think Raycon, NESN, who employs Swofford son, has a deal with the ACC for 2nd or 3rd tier games. One reason why maybe ACC is having a hard time getting network up and running with ESPN,who perhaps doesn't want to spend $$$ to buy rights back.

Only guessing and don't know the variables.
