I bought one of these for travel and I liked it so much I use it every night now. There's a couple of cons with it, but overall it's a good experience. The negatives include the fact that it won't use standard gear so you have to get special AirMini gear, or a converter to use your regular hose and face mask, etc.. The second one is a little counterintuitive. The unit is so small and light that it is easy to pull off a nightstand if you straight too far from the side of the bed. They have a separate hanger that would allow you to hang your mattress on the side bar of the bed. I may get that eventually.I had my annual checkup with the sleep Dr. this morning. All good. Saw this little gizmo (Resmed AirMini) while I was there and mentioned it, because my machine is big and a real pain for travel. She wrote me a prescription and I just ordered one. The place I ordered from had 25% off for Memorial Day (Apria direct).
I don't know how old your existing machine is, but there's been a big technology jump since I last bought mine, including stats on well, you sleep with the new AirMini. It was interesting at first, but now I don't pay attention to it. Based on the stats, I've come to wonder if I still need a CPAP. At some point this year I'd like to go in and do a new sleep study just to double check that. Most nights, the pressure the machine utilizes to maintain my airway is very low.
Good luck with the AirMini. As I said, I like it.
