After all the non conference talk last season, how do they end up with a no name d2( I assume) school at the end of December?

Midwest would probably beat CCSU

Probably but at least they're D1.

SMU did a much better job with the NC SOS.

They have a 77 NC SOS this year compared to 303 last year.

They probably did not figure Michigan would have an RPI of 151 at this point either

Not denying that just thought it was odd they ended up with this game after all that.

Teams outside D1 don't count in the RPI calculation. So as long as SMU already has played some good out of conference teams maybe they figured playing this game was safer than playing a bad D1 team. Every high major team plays at least a couple cupcakes so D2 is better than a D1 cupcake on the schedule.

Ended up holding on 70-61 but it was within 1 0r 2 baskets for a lot of the second half.

I'm sure Jon Rothstein was amazed that Midwest hung with such an amazing SMU team.

Come on dude...SMU has "palpable buzz" surrounding them. They're downright "off the charts!"

Is'nt this basically the same team that whooped us last year plus they added a few more high level kids in the mix?
The universe wants the AAC to suck apparently.

  • How about SMU's Yanick Moreira tonight vs. Midwestern State? 9 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 blocks. Incredibly skilled. Ponies move to 9-3.

That's all he posted, didn't even mention how close the game was.
