Sooooo many nba prospects in our conference next year. Scouts will be running each other over to catch mudiay and turner vs purvis, dham , and brimah.

They aren't UL but hopefully they can at least be a consistent NCAAT team while UConn is in the league. This would help. I'm more worried about Memphis after they lose their seniors. UConn seems to be tripping talent. Cincy will always be able to hang their hat on defense, though who knows how they will score next year without Kilpatrick.

With all the turnover at Memphis and Cincinnati, and Louisville leaving, SMU will be without doubt our biggest challenger for the league crown next year, IMO. If SMU reels in Turner in addition to Muiday, they're a legit national title contender.

Pastner could recruit in a graveyard , it's just what he does. I expect him to reel in talent from the Tennessee hoops hotbed. In fact that Nichols could be a star

True but they lose a ton.

UConn loses Napier, Kromah, Giffey and Olander to be replaced by Cassell, Hamilton, Purvis and Lubin.

Memphis loses Jackson, Crawford, Dixon, Pellom, and Johnson to be replaced by McGee and three JuCos. That's a ton of turnover at the guard position. If Goodwin and Nichols stay they do have a good frontcourt. (Like Boat and Daniels they shouldn't be going anywhere).

Cincy loses Kilpatrick, Rubles and Jackson. They replace their two best players with Clark, Moore and a JuCo. I think the leprechaun coaches defense well enough for them to stay very competitive.

UL also loses a ton also in Smith, Van Treese, Hancock and likely Harrell. They are reloading though with Aaron, Snider, Mahmoud, Onuaku, etc. They will be awfully young though with 6 freshmen and 3 sophomores. They will have three seniors in Jones, Blackshear and Ware. Could be a pretty rough year by their standards but again Pitino can coach defense.

Memphis might be getting Jaquan Lyle, too, but whether or not he actually plays next year is another story.

I think they win it all...

My biggest concern with SMU would be what happens when Brown leaves. Let's face it, at 70-something he's not going to be there a long time. If I had to bet Iwould guess they return to obscurity when that happens (think Butler minus Stevens). Hopefully Brown can keep them relevant for the few years he is there and the few (hopefully) years it takes for us to get out of the AAC.

I don't think they will fade away. They have their next head coach sitting next to Brown every day (Tim Jankovich), they have, and are willing to spend, money, and they're in the middle of a basketball hotbed.

Tim Jankovich is coach in waiting and Brown personally hand picked him. He will be a great coach when Brown leaves. He is a great recruiter and could have had a chance at some top jobs if he stayed at Illinois St. He is the reason Nic Moore when to SMU.

Dallas is a terrific recruiting hotbed also which they are starting to get recruits from since Larry Brown showed up.
