SMU has about 7000 students and any significant local fan base left 25 years ago when the program was given the death penalty. If they were not located in Texas they wouldn't be on the radar at all. They do pretty well for what they are and would do better as an AQ. The player's expectations may be a bit off for the present situation. Their ceiling is TCU which isn't bad at all.
