We score 2 points in 9 minutes. 18 in the second half. No problem, mon.

Some of the games we won this year....I gotta think it's voo doo or karma. I have no idea.

Not for nothing but we had 5 games that went into OT this year also. I cant remember the last time we played that many OT games in one season. I think its good. It shows this team can win close games and handle the pressure

It's fly by the seat of your pants basketball but when only 5 is TO no choice. Victory pulled from the jaws of defeat!!

Please get some BIGS who can score before I have a coronary.......

As sad was it sounds I think we may be around 24-2 / 23-3 right now had Alex and Scoe not been traitors.
It's tempting to say that, but guys like Daniels, Giffey, and Calhoun would not have had as much of an opportunity to develop this season if those guys were here, and they have all played major roles this year.
Plus, at least one of those gentleman was apparently a gigantic negative factor in terms of team chemistry-something that cannot be overlooked.
You could be correct, of course, but my gut tells me we are a better team this year as the roster currently stands.

I believe that they are executiong Fishy's plan of "40 minutes of WTF". Looks like it might be working.

Some drought, but Cinci failed to open any appreciable margin over us during same drought period. Any idea what their scoring effort was during same period??

About 9 or so. One thing though, both teams did work hard on D, causing a fair # of late clock shots and not great shots. At the 10 minute mark of the first half, both teams were on about an 80 point pace. At the half about 70. Then they both stopped scoring. Cincy only had 21 in the 2nd half. Part of the rebounding problem is lack of height compared to the opps, and except for DD, don't jump as well as the opps. But some of it is lousy box outs or non box outs. The Cincy tying rebound basket to close the regulation scoring was not even close to being a contested rebound.

There is the old joke about Moses in heaven catching the rabbi playing golf on Yom Kippur. He races and finds God and says "Can you believe this? A rabbi, of all people, desecrating your most sacred day." As the rabbi steps up to tee off on a 400 yard dogleg par 4, God turns to Moses and says "I'll take care of it." The rabbi tees off and slices right into the woods. The ball bounces back onto a fairway and a dog picks it up on the dead run. The dog is then picked up by an eagle who flies towards the green. Lightning flashes in the sky and the eagle drops the dog ten feet from the cup, the dog releases the ball on the green on impact and the ball rolls the ten feet into the hole. Moses turns to God and says "What have you done? I thought you were going to punish the Rabbi and instead you give him the single greatest moment of his life?" God turns to Moses and says "And who is he going to tell?"

That is what this season is. A team with no right to still be on the fringe of the Big East race is, and continues to win its share against quality teams, with no inside game or depth whatsoever. It's an amazing story. And because of our post-season ban and realignment woes, no one cares or gives it attention.

But, for the record, it is no less amazing. Barring a collapse, this will be our first regular season conference winning record since the Final Four team of 08-09. With a team that, on paper, is the worst team we fielded since '06-'07. And I have not given up on 5 losses sharing the conference title if we can win out (although Marquette losing this weekend at 'Nova would certainly help that along).

It's got to speak to Ollie's coaching. Yesterday he schooled
Cincys coach. All those sporadic defense swaps looked like something out the nba.

There was one posession where I think we switched defense 4 times. That counted an inbounds after a timeout, but still...

Yeah a lot of people are overlooking the 10/19 3 pters. Feels so good to be on the right side of long ball numbers like that.
