I remember Pitino playing for UMass at the fieldhouse. He was a freshman when Dr. J was in his last year, so they were never on the same team. Not the most likable guy, but a heck of a coach.

You have to give him some credit. Not much, he’s dirty as hell. But he’s made his money and some, he’s 72 and could be skiing sailing and getting lade all day everyday. But he’s still grinding away at bball. He mostly really love it, or he has a terrible financial manager.

Oh I give him credit. Anyone who doesnt recognize what an elite coach he is has an agenda based on personal reasons. Either that, or they are just dumb. I mean forget the rest of his career, look at what he has done with the traditional dumpster fire that is St. Johns in just 18 months. It is jaw dropping.
