Greg thinks Nowell starts day one. Very aggressive prediction.
Agreed.

Think Greg was also 100% on point with his Clingan take. It’s something I’ve been saying for awhile.

Part of my opinion that one of our more talented 2nd year guys probably need to be pushed to the front more to make up for what we’ll be missing with Clingan gone.

meh. everyone knows that clingan is a generational rim protecting big and offense facilitator. being able to call that doesn't make him right about Reed and Samson not being championship caliber. certainly physically they are at that level, and this is the UConn staff who identified Reed early. his argument is basically Reed is dumb, which is highly dubious

Greg is a UM guy and watched Reed closely. He’s also a UConn enthusiast, has a love affair with Cam.

The Nowell take was over the top, more a product of how good he looks, and hard to argue honestly. Overall these guys run an entertaining pod, with creative topics and credible insights and they’re covering everything from recruiting through real action. I’m a fan.

Far from a UConn enthusiast

He watched Cam in the B10. He's been dragged kicking and screaming to be less critical of UConn after the back-to-back championships, but he's not generally biased toward UConn.

If reed is complete stiff, I mean doesn’t score or pass or rebound when needed, we win national title by10. If reed is a stud, no one is even remotely as good as us. If reed is a weapon, should beat duke type teams by 30. Over at half.

These comments on Reed will be worth saving for the future. Staff knows the complexities of offense and defense and factor that into evaluation of prospects.
Everyone courted into this program must measure up to what the staff expects and all the staff would be opining on such things as bb iq. I just trust them and their very inside knowledge to worry about what some podcaster says; especially when they are a U of M "enthusiast". The difference between the U of M coaching applicable to Reed vs Uconn is like comparing a lower class A minor league baseball coach with a World Series level major league staff. Just no comparison whatsoever. Trust the staff.
They will factor in his assets and coach up his weaknesses while fitting his PT into the
game plans.

The staff chose Reed so I'm on board with what their plans are for the team & his usage. I think he will be complimentary to Johnson, & Singare may merit some minutes. We'll soon see.

You seem a bit ambitious. :)

Given the small amount of Reed's game I've seen, I think he has a good chance of providing a Sanogo-like presence (strength and girth) and skillset (good hands and feet) in the paint. This is a great combination with Johnson's attributes and would make it three seasons in a row that the two headed/different makeup at the center position makes it nearly impossible for the opposition to stop both guys over 40 minutes.

Not necessarily these dudes. But I just think a lot of folks are sleeping on Reed. He's a banger and a two way player. He and Samson will create their own unique set of challenges for opposing Bigs. Glad we have him.

Better than Sanogo/Clingan or Clingan/Johnson? No. Good enough to play to our other roster strengths? I think so.

BTW. Glad we have Singare to challenge these guys in practice/player development for him/and insurance in case of foul trouble or minor injury.

He also predicted Aidan as a first team AA.

Greg made Goodman seem likeable on Fof68.
