I thought it was a foul if you cleared space with your elbow. I guess not for Catchings and Coleman.

Missed shot, back to Chicago, who is fighting for each rebound, and we have another foul, this time on Vandersloot.

Catch gets her pocket picked, and Indiana tries to return the favor on the Sky resulting in the ball going out of bounds, Time out.

9 point lead

5 and a half to go

Sky just appear to want this more. Up by 12 with 7:18 to go.
Just my own idiosyncrasy, and no offense to you at all, but do you really believe that Indiana just doesn't want to win as much as Chicago does? I simply do not believe that and really hate it when announcers use that as an explanation on TV. So UCONN won the NC last year because they wanted it more than ND? How about UCONN played better, an was better.

So far Chicago is playing better. Indiana has about 6 minutes to make up a 9 point deficit.

Angles angles, angles. I have learned that what looks or doesn't look like a foul from one perspective, isn't/is a foul from another view.

.-.
Quigley to Fowles for 2. Fowles looking good. Chicago up by 11.

Defensive 3 second call on the Sky...oops January hits the free throw

Catch is not having a great game....1 - 8. Well, you can have a bad game, no matter how good you are....

Coleman swipes the ball from Quigley and then gets called for an offensive foul. I think that if that swinging arm of hers made contact, it would be a flagrant. She's lucky it didn't.

Time out.

Both definitely use the bows.

Score is 61 - 51 Chicago, with 4:18 left in the game.

here we go....

Elena has played only just over 3 minutes this half.

Nice lob to Sylvia from Quigley and the ball is knocked out by Indiana.

Quigley hits a 3!!!

64 - 51 3:34 to go with Zellous shooting free throws...makes just 1

.-.
Again Quigley to Fowles via bullett pass, she misses, Breeland cleans up.

On the other end, Young fouls Catch, in the bonus, she will shoot 2.

I like these announcers....just thought I would throw that in.

Catch makes both 66 - 54

Indiana is trying to keep Big Syl out of the paint and gets fouled, Quigley loses the ball on a steal by Indiana, and on the other end, January is fouled and now is shooting 2.

Time out

66 - 55 Chicago

2:38 left to go.

Lots of time. Chicago has got to stop fouling and stopping the clock if they want to win

January makes the second free throw...
Full court press by Indiana.....who has one foul to give and they do with 5 seconds left on the clock....
ok

They get the ball inside to Fowles on yet another bullet pass who is then fouled.

2:06 to play.

She makes one of two

Score is 67 - 56

Catch gets a bucket on the other end, and Prince misses her shot and gets fouled and now Lin Dunn gets T'ed up...

Quigley shooting...now Young...

70-58

1:39 to go

Fowles picks up her fourth...1:27 to go

Christmas makes both foul shots....

'Sloot calls a time out as she gets trapped, 1:23 to go......10 point game.

Here we go....
I expect a quick foul......

.-.
and they don't foul right away...'Sloot drives to the basket and gets fouled...1:10 left to go

'Sloot makes both, lead to 12

January answers on the other end....

Wow - Prince double dribbles and no call.....wow...Quigley makes a 3. She has 24 points. It's gotta be over for Indiana and Lin Dunn....

Just as well. Dunn's team going to the finals AGAIN would have been bad for the game ;)

Final Score: Chicago 75 - Indiana 62

Quigley is high scorer for the game by a long shot, 24 Pts, 1 Reb, 2 Ast shooting 4 - 6 on 3s
Fowles 17 Pts, 7 Reb, 2 Blocks
Prince ended the game with 11 points, 4 rebounds, a steal and a block

Elena played only 21 minutes and contributed 4 points. They did a great job managing her minutes, using her as a "decoy" for much of the first half. Hopefully she can recover from her back injury quickly

For Indiana, Zellous had 16 points and Larkins had 11 rebounds, and Catch 9 Pts, 7 Reb, and 3 assists.

I would say Quigley is player of the game, will have to wait and see .

They are lauding Fowles now, and looking forward to her match up with Griner in the finals.

Should be good

.-.
I remember in preseason there was discussion here that maybe Quigley was on the team for the DePaul connection. She has come so far.
That was me who made that suggestion. The crow is tasty.

Kelly Faris should take heart -- after Quigley was in the league for two years, nobody thought she would still be playing after 5 years, much less be 6th Woman of the Year or the leading scorer in the Conference Title game. There is a lot of similarity between Allie's game and Kelly's (even a slight physical resemblance). Allie was a good shooter who had to become stronger; Kelly is the opposite -- a strong player for her size who needs more accuracy on her shot (but no more than what she showed as a senior at UConn).

I'm not sure whether she, EDD, or Courtney Vandersloot is my favorite player on the Sky. But unless EDD can play 30 minutes a game against Phoenix (which doesn't look too likely), it will be a short series. If EDD can play a full starter's load of minutes, then it could be a 5-game series.

I am worried that EDD may not be able to take this chance to finally play for Geno because of her health issues (back + Lyme disease).

She's a local girl for the Sky, right? I thought I heard that on another telecast.

I told you I liked her.

BTW: I was wondering why you weren't posting...

or maybe I wasn't seeing your posts.

I had lower back problems when I played (back spasms) but they went away and it was a one-time thing. Hopefully she'll experience the same thing.

Faris needs to drive more and quit settling for the three pointer so much. They're low percentage shots and if she drives all the time she'll get to the free throw line.
