We are all expecting a great turnout, and why not? All evidence points to it, but how many BC supporters are going to be in the house? Boston is less than an hour and a half away.

What the hell do they mean "configured". It's a god damn hockey arena and the seats are there, sell them.

Yea makes no sense. Wolf Pack don't even use the curtains and they'll draw 500 people. UConn Hockey is actually a draw so we have to reduce capacity? Don't want to make our attendance # look too good I suppose. There goes essentially any hope of being able to reach #4 for attendance avg. unless we get 6,000+ every single game.

I don't know if they're worried it's getting to big too quickly and they're thinking if there's 10k and we lose 5-0 half of those people won't return for any other games? So make 1/4 of those people stay home and make them attend another upcoming game. I don't know if that's the strategy they have in mind but all that comes to mind is this:

7,500 doesn't seem right though either. 6,200 lower bowl + 1,500 upper bowl + the 2 sections sold in the other upper bowl (another 250) + walk up doesn't add up to 7,500. I don't know the way they've handled this game ticket wise and reporting ticket sales has just been wacky as hell.

Consider that the XL Center may not staffed the same way for College Hockey as it would for Basketball or the Wolfpack. Security may not be available, concessions may not be able to accommodate a larger crowd, etc. More goes into it than selling license to an empty seat.

I still don't get it. If walk-ups aren't gonna happen it's gonna look very strange with 2 sections alone in the upper bowl above sec. 108. And if those seats aren't sold then imo it's not a sellout. A sellout with the curtains would be selling out both upper bowls and lower bowl completely.

For some people, 8,069 spectators clearly creates a positive impression. And, UCONN did the right thing selling more tickets to meet demand. Don't worry, be happy!
