Singare

Singare probably has more potential but this feels like a Richie Springs situation. Posters see him play in garbage time and believe he's ready to contribute.
The problem is the team depth is ridiculous. Singare is losing those minutes to stew and the freshman

I think the entire board would agree, but if Hurley isn't giving him those minutes then there is something that we are not seeing.
Its possible that, rather than put their third best center in the game, that Hurley is like "Darn, I guess I'll play my 5 best guys and put a huge matchup problem in Karaban at the 5"

Yes of course, that statement didn't come out coherently. YS already recruited over for next year(26) with Reibe. Reed leaves next year. Will Singare be Reibes backup in 27, or will he again get recruited over via the portal or a top 20 HS 5? Probably recruited over again. Is that a bit more coherent?
What do you mean by "recruited over for next year"? They're losing Johnson. Did you want Hurley to just have 2 centers on the roster next year? Did you want him to recruit a center from high school that wasn't good just so Singare could definitely be better than him? How do we know if Reibe will be better than Singare next year? I don't understand what the term "recruited over" means.

Karaban is NOT in trouble against taller centers. There actually is a tactic called 'boxing out.'
Ok - emphatic opinion and fairly juvenile condescension. But hey, if that's what happens here, I can leave.

.-.
Why should it be any this thread any different than the rest of the Boneyard?
This one is particularly egregious. When you are the two time repeat champ, ranked #3, co-favorites in Vegas to win a 3rd championship in a row and your greatest worry is "why isn't our third string center getting more minutes?". That is Moo.

Oh, come on, fantasizing that bench players are the cure to all ills is a staple of The Boneyard. It's pretty benign.

(Count me among those who would like to see Singare getting more minutes or at least getting a chance at some minutes earlier in the game. That doesn't mean he needs to be playing 35 minutes. But sneaking a minute or two in where one of the big two has picked up a couple of fouls, doesn't seem like a bad idea to me. Yes, fully agree, though, Dan knows best.)

I just want to play in Maui already so we can know what’s what.

Like can Karaban at the 5 actually work against good centers? What if we get cold from 3?

Hey. I happen to know someone who believes the threads on building an on campus football stadium matter significantly.

No, they don't matter at all. Building an on-campus football stadium on the other hand? That matters significantly.

Eric Reibe, the No. 1 ranked center in 2025, commits to UConn

Feels like Reibe will be playing before Singare, as will Reed. I'd say he was recruited over. In original post, I mentioned the programs ability to get who they want/need recruiting wise as a roadblock to Singares playing time. Don't think Hurley would pull a Nick Evers and play Reibe over Singare no matter what, but if Reibe doesn't become a 4 or 4/5, Singare will be looking at playing sparingly again, barring big jump from year 2 to 3. Lets hope for that, but if not, I'd expect Reibe to play ahead of Singare at the 5. Not a very controversial viewpoint, and as I said, love Singare and hope he finds a way.

My favorable impression of Singare is really not that he take someone else’s minutes. It’s more that he seems to have skills and instincts that make him a decent option when needed without sacrificing a lot. He seems a cut above the usual end of bencher.

Yeah it’s kind of hard to watch championships won with guys like Charles Okwandu and Phil Nolan playing huge minutes and then being told Singare can’t be useful currently.

From everything I've read about Singare-He's a great kid-Very positive-Awesome teammate and great in the locker room and is improving through player development and practicing vs Clingan/Johnson/Reed over the last two years. If there is a stretch where we have injury concerns/foul trouble at the 5 spot-You'll be happy we have him as a back-up.

Loved him every time he’s played. Stay frosty Youssouf!!!

it doesn't matter they'll just move Alex to the 5 and keep Singare on the bench. Hurley doesn't want to play him even in blowout cupcake wins.
