Losses against Top 25...

Minnesota > #20 Iowa
Duquesne > #10 Saint Louis

Arkansas > #17 Kentucky
Indiana > #20 Iowa
Houston > #21 Memphis
Penn State > #22 Ohio State
#12 Virginia > #4 Syracuse
#21 Memphis > #7 Louisville
Xavier > #9 Creighton
VCU > #10 Saint Louis
Connecticut > #11 Cincinnati
Kansas State > #15 Iowa State
South Carolina > #17 Kentucky
Illinois > #18 Michigan State
Oklahoma > #24 Texas
Oklahoma State > #5 Kansas

Of all the upsets only two were against ranked opponents. Another two were against teams receiving votes. So each of the other 12 upsets were pretty significant in nature.

Each listing in red are teams that lost twice to opponents not receiving any votes. I would expect each of these teams to drop significantly in ranking. Honestly, I think they all fall out of the top 25.

Only Memphis has redeemed themselves with a Top 25 victory in this past week. I would expect them to hold steady in the 21-24 area. Their saving grace is that they beat Louisville and a lot of teams in the 10-25 range lost.

I think UCONN falls in the 16-21 range. I know its a big window, but some of these losses are close to as abysmal as UCONNs loss to Houston. Duquesne is god awful. No way Saint Louis stays in the Top 25 with those two losses, even though VCU has been on the cusp of being a Top 25 team throughout the year.

My opinion doesn't mean squat though. So this is all just BS anyway.

Wow what a week. Can't remember seeing this many upsets in such a short timeframe. Just glad UConn is on the winning end.

As for UK, I can't see how they'll be ranked. I mean, they can't be, right? Houston has dragged itself to 137 in KenPom. They are better than South Carolina. And we got (justifiably) killed in the polls with that loss (and a loss to a sneaky-good at the time SMU). They lost to Arkansas at home as well as South Carolina on the road. They're out.

Or, maybe not. Their saving grace is everyone else losing. I mean, Texas (#24) lost and is going to fall out.
22 Ohio State lost to Penn State--a better team than South Carolina, but still going to fall out probably before UK does.
21 Memphis lost to Houston...but their win over Louisville might keep them in, and ahead of UK. Maybe.
20 Iowa also lost 2x this week. So they'll be out. But their losses are better than UK's, so they should probably be ranked ahead of them.
18 MSU lost once this week to a middling Illinois team, but has lost 3 of 4. They probably should be out, but will probably hang in at 24 or 25.
Then there's UK.

And who's going to make it into the rankings? UConn for sure. They were 26, and given their wins, and all those losses, we'll likely jump OSU, Iowa, UK, maybe Memphis, maybe MSU, and find ourselves at 20-21.

But UCLA lost to Oregon and they were #27. Oklahoma probably gets in. Maybe Gonzaga sneaks in?

Based on the bottom part of the poll, along with those recieve votes, I think the lower end of the polls look something like:

15: UNC
16: Cincy
17: Iowa State
18: Saint Louis
19: SMU
20: New Mexico
21: UConn
22: Oklahoma
23: Memphis
24: Michigan State
25: Stephen F. Austin (?)

This just goes to show that picking a tourny winner will be hard. A lot of brackets will die on the first weekend.
