You couldn't see his face when Durant mentioned Ollie, so I don't know what you're talking about "his eyes widened". But I'm sure he was surprised that Kevin Durant is saying a journeyman point guard who never really accomplished much on the court was responsible for changing the entire culture of one of the NBA's preeminent franchises. Anyone who doesn't know Ollie would be surprised to hear that. And so a good interviewer would follow up. He didn't because, like I said, he's a bad interviewer.
Absolutely missing a line like that in an an interview is incredibly bad.
That's a story. Thfact that this same guy has one of the best first two years coaching records in history
But saying that Simmons tried to change the subject as fast as possible because Durant mentioned a UConn guy makes you sound certifiable, honestly. It seems that, in your estimation, there's a pretty widespread network of people who are actively working, for no apparent reason other than their own animus, to bring down UConn basketball.

Just because we're paranoid it doesn't mean they are not out to get us.

From today's nba mailbag....

But this would be the ultimate quarters-and-dimes-for-a-two-dollar-bill trade: something like Alex Len (last year’s no. 5 pick), three 2014 first-rounders (from Indy, Washington and Phoenix, all top-12 protected at least) and a protected Minnesota first-rounder that Phoenix already owns (thanks, David Kahn!) for Love and J.J. Barea’s Expiring-in-2015 Contract.

On what planet would this trade EVER happen?

That whole trade speculation bit of his column was maddeningly stupid.

For me, as an incredibly biased UCONN, the worst was the fact that he thinks Love for Drummond and draft picks is a fair trade (he thinks it unreasonable because Love wouldn't sign with the Pistons. Perhaps my bias makes me crazy but I think its unreasonable because the Pistons wouldn't trade Love for Drummond straight up, and Detroit giving picks?)

Simmons is unbelievably plugged into the NBA so there is no reason for him to be so ignorant about the League.
