Looks and sounds like a highly motivated and thoughtful leader.
There was another interview back in the spring where I got that impression also. Very mature and well spoken kid. Here it is if you missed it.That was probably the best interview by a college player I've ever witnessed. He's well spoken and his answers were very substantive. He's going to be a very good leader for this team.

One of Newton’s charms is his quiet disposition. The constant smile with killer instincts. Great kid.He is an extremely likeable kid.
Its funny though, for all the comparisons to Tristen, I think Demary uttered more words in that interview than I heard from Tristen his entire two years here.
After 45 years?I am starting to dislike the "physicality of the Big East" being said so much.
Yeah and I don’t know why we are sticking to the belief that the Big East is the most physical league. After 45 years?

I certainly didn't mean to imply that Tristen wasn't likeable, he definitely was. I just mean its a 180 from his quiet demeanor to Demary who apparently loves to talk. One of Newton’s charms is his quiet disposition. The constant smile with killer instincts. Great kid.
The CW is very powerful. It can take long time to change.Yeah and I don’t know why we are sticking to the belief that the Big East is the most physical league.
I didn’t take your comment that way at all. Just saying, Newton was a quiet killer.I certainly didn't mean to imply that Tristen wasn't likeable, he definitely was. I just mean its a 180 from his quiet demeanor to Demary who apparently loves to talk.

It has to do with the way it’s reffed not who’s in the leagueYeah and I don’t know why we are sticking to the belief that the Big East is the most physical league.
Tarris may be the biggest beast at the 5 in the conference as no more Sorber, Dixon, Etc. Maybe St. John’s has some bruisers bc Pitino but the others in the league - not buying it.
With Maheney let’s call it what it was - slight frame, a little too ‘artistic’ with the ball and not the bbiq to know all the plays and freely operate. Like say a C- as a lead guard and definitely not a 3 level scorer nor assist king. Twice could not even get the ball across the line. Was not “could not handle the physicality of the Big East”. Would have flamed out in Big 10/12/SEC as well.
Big East play is awful. The best part of a new conference will be leaving that behind, the money would just be a bonus. It has to do with the way it’s reffed not who’s in the league
