With Sadie Edwards committing....why haven't we heard from Sierra? I know the two do not go hand and hand... but it does indicate that recruiting is open and people can commit at this point in time. I think she would be an excellent addition to UCONN. Anyone have any info?>

Thats a good question. Does she have an Offer in hand from UConn ??

You can "verbally commit" at any time you want, hell some coaches have commitments from kids in the 8th grade. The only thing that is binding and officially states that you have decided to attend a certain college is a National Letter of Intent. "Signing Day" has become a popular time for recruits to announce their future plans so I would assume Sierra might wait for that.

There aren't any articles out there I can find, but I believe there is information somewhere regarding Sierra having an offer from UConn. She does have offers from Notre Dame and Duke, among others. Although the connection is strong between UConn and Sierra, I think she is taking her time and making the best decision for her as to a college destination.

According to the UConnBlog, Calhoun has an offer from UConn.

According to Nan's blog she has been offered a scholarship. It's up to her to decide whether it is time to accept.

2 things... Calhoun is more a wing/slasher at this point. Probably more in the mold of Kalana Greene before her injury (her game has been likened to Deshields, just not quite as highly rated). I know the OP wasn't saying that Sadie's verbal has anything to do with Sierra's since their games are different.

The other thing - ND has shown and proven that you can never have too many very highly skilled guards. We simply do not have an elite level point guard at this time to lead the team. Moriah will be that but she's not quite there. And 3 ACL's made it impossible for Caroline to fulfill that role either.

Looking at the roster thus far when the 2014 kids come on board, you will have (my opinion) the following:

Pure PG Jefferson
Combo guards Banks, Chong, Edwards
Guard/wings Ekmark, KML
Forwards Tuck, Stewart
Post Stokes

Personally I think Calhoun is a wing or a wing/forward. Plenty of room for her on the team. UCONN is putting together a group of really talented guards and wings. I think we'd all feel better with some additional post players.
