Sierra Calhoun is POY in....

the Queens borough of New York....as selected by the New York Post. They
name all-star teams and a POY in each borough....and on Sunday they name the all-city team.
I would guess that Sierra [a soph] will be on that first team....maybe the POY a bit doubtful.

It mentions Sierra going for 20 in a late season upset win over Cicero [Breanna].
Her older brother Omar was named POY on the guy-side. He is still headed for UConn next year....hopefully.

Update: today is the Brooklyn borough:

Brianna Butler from Nazareth is POY. Mercy transfer Sadie Edwards [Nazareth]
is first team....a junior guard....are we interested? The article says she was the steadiest of the team down the stretch..
had 19 in their season-ending loss to Cicero....Breanna had 42/23.

Nazareth is closing in June....where does Sadie go?

Sunday is the all-city team.

The link is to an article that says Nazareth has done sufficient fund-raising to stay open for 4 more years.
The girls' team is losing some D1 talent [Butler to Syracuse among them] but they will still be one of the
best NYC teams if not the best. CTK vs. Nazareth is a great high school rivalry.
Congratulations to the school for doing what was necessary to stay in business.
