Like most inventions, necessity and ingenuity came together for a basic product that solves a problem.

UWF donor chairman gives football team medical gift

Nothing UConn specific but it gives the back ground and functionality.

$5k per tent. Invented by 'Bamas Associate AD for Sports and Medicine.

Pretty much standard on every D1 sideline (I don't watch enough NFL to know if it's used there).

The collapsible tent, at a base price of $5,000, was developed by the University of Alabama's Jeff Allen, the Crimson Tide's associate athletic director for sports medicine and head football trainer.

He formed a company, Kinematic Sports to market and sell his "SidelinER” tent. The tent is light enough to fold into an easy carry bag, yet big enough to completely cover a training table on the sidelines with room for player, trainer or doctors.
