No doubt, hadn't a been for her we would have lost by at least 25.

She played great. Knew she had it in her. If she can keep this up, she's gonna be a good one.

Some of her boxouts were so effective that the ball bounced free on the floor, ready for pick up by teammates. She was ready to play right from the first second.

I'm always amazed at how Geno can turn negatives into positives. Benching Stefanie vs. Marquette seems to have worked. She looked like a completely different player last night. She was inspired. Now we have to hope that Geno's inspiration lingers and she keeps playing at that intensity.

Incidentally, did anyone notice that Doris Burke mentioned that Stefanie looked tired at various points in the game? Any opinions on that? Do you think she still needs to work on her conditioning for next season?

Stef floored a few of the ND players with screens!

Stef's movement made her look tired at times (not running hard enough down the floor) but her body language didn't show it.

One of my favorite plays by Stef was when she had her back to the basket at the free throw line and was looking for an open teammate to pass the ball to. When she couldn't find anyone, she turned and dribbled her way in for a layup. I was on crutches this past September and probably moved quicker than Stef with the ball last night. She looked slow and tired but it's just the way she moves, like a freight train gathering steam or like Geno said, she moves like the Queen Mary.

I'm sure she was tired. She played more minutes than she has in quite awhile, in a very intense game. She should be tired.

And sure she could use more conditioning. But she also is probably never gonna be a great athletic type. Just wrong DNA. But yea, she can improve.

Yes, I also noticed that. She must have bounced the ball at least three times; thought for sure she was going to kick it into the stands, but she made it work and scored!
Sometimes the big kids look a little akward. Maybe that makes them look more tired than they really are.

I'll bet that dribble drive was quite a surprise to ND. And all those foul line jumpers were just what we needed. It should have been enough to win the game. Oh well.

She will be paid attention to in the games to come.

Geno, from the post-game presser:

Were there any positives to come away with?
“Stefanie [Dolson] was great. She had a different attitude about her. I thought she looked like she did last year. There was a body language in her that I haven’t seen at any other time this year. She managed to keep that the entire game, which was a great positive for her personally and for us going forward.”
