I have to keep reminding myself these are only kids. Andre turned 18 only a little while ago. It's hard for us fans to believe a kid with his athletic prowess can be timid. But he is. SN has figured out how to get him going. This game is a perfect example of what happens when AD's confidence gets reenforced in the game.
We also see how easy it is for him to be deflated and become invisible in a game. So props to SN and the coaches for finding ways to get him involved.
Of course this team has more than a few players who are quite skilled but for some reason lack confidence in themselves and need external reenforcement. That will be JC's most difficult job this season - balancing the fragile temperaments of many skilled players so they stay positive even as he must focus on winning the game.
I thought he subbed in players very well today.

Great job by him taking a back seat and getting the bigs involved.
There may be games where the team needs 20 points and 3 assists from him. Today wasn't one of them. Good for him to recognize that.

In his post game interview on SNY JC said he told Bazz the way to get better was to make Andre better!
Bazz since Boat: 11.8 PPG, 8 Assists, 3 Rebounds, 2.8 Steals, 3.5 TO's. 41% FG%, 42% 3P%, 69% FT%
Bazz b4 Boat: 16.5 PPG, 6.2 Assists, 5.2 Rebounds, 1.8 Steals, 3.5 TO's, 50% FG%, 41% 3P%, 73% FT%
Basically since Boat has played Bazz's Assists and steals (point guard duties) have gone up and scoring and rebounding down TO's have been constant which indicated Bazz's A/TO ratio has improved. I think rebounding can be somewhat attributed to the increased rebounding by the bigs, but his assist totals have been pretty nice recently. His shooting, esp 2 point shooting has dropped a ton, which is a bit odd. Both are based on limited samples.
