I know, sacrilege right? Well, according to Geno, after traveling to Rocky Top, and losing to the unorthodox style of Tenn, The team came back to Storrs with a new focus and sense of purpose. After that game, the entire team started to really pay attention to their coaches, and everyone was on the same page. After that loss there was a noticeable change of attitude, and they never lost again through the end of the season. I know we should hate anything orange, but if there is such a thing as a "good" loss, that game was definitely it. I'm sure most fans would trade a loss to Tenn for a National Championship.

If anything, we should be grateful that our coach believes in putting together a difficult out of conference schedule and testing the team early and often so that both he and they get a sense of what they need to do to compete at the highest level.

I’m all about giving credit where credit is due…even if it’s for a rival. I think that loss was about ill advised overconfidence and lack of focus more than it was about TN being unorthodox. Could have been any team.

No, Never. We can't even consider this year a success with a loss to them. :(

This.

The BE is just a horrible league aside from maybe 1 or 2 teams who give the Huskies a tough workout. The BE schedule allows the team to run their sets and get conditioning.

Kudos to the Athletic Department for killing it with the OOC schedule.

If I was told that I either had to face losing to Tennessee or live with a wheelchair for the rest of my life, I'm choosing the wheels.

Geno said post game that the team liked, really liked each other during the season, however after the TN game, they loved each other. There was probably some honest conversation about goals and how do they get there, both individually and collectively.

The way I see it, that loss to TN was good for both programs. TN got their statement win after many years of languishing as a “has been” and gave them hope for the future. For UConn, it was a wake up call and propelled them to dominate for the rest of the season and win #12. :)

I’ll gladly say thank you to TN for helping to once again add to UConn’s legacy.
