During the Xavier game the announcers predicted 7 teams from the BE make the tourney. It reminded me of all the big talk from the ACC when those four skunks defected from the BE, where is all the talk now? The ACC has become a one trick pony (Duke) and those skunk defectors are mired in mediocrity. So, should Duke move to the BE for their own good?

Yes Duke will give up ACC football $ and all the historty they have with UNC, etc for BE rockfights ....assume post in jest.

Football $ are a good excuse to remain in a mid-major conference. I wonder if they have a good TV football contract for the Colonial or Horizon leagues?

So you’re wondering about whether Duke should move from a conference where it has a legacy, is the basketball headliner, can field a mediocre P5 football team against one of the best teams in the country (Clemson) and otherwise even competition, and cashes a P5 check for…none of those things? It makes almost too much sense.

Duke’s LAX team would really dominate in the BE Lacrosse league…..oh wait.

This is thread is obviously tongue in cheek but, if you have Sirius XM, search for Coach K basketball and beyond podcast on the Sirius App. He interviews Cooley. His respect, admiration and jealousy of the BE comes through loud and clear.

It is a bit tounge in cheek, but any opportunity to take a shot, cheap or not, at the ACC is OK!
Yup, the ACCnyks have had that stench of arrogance about them for too long. Sports Dynasties like empires rise and fall. That be the way the world turns. So don’t be an arsenal when you are flying high or your fall will be a tough one.

Oh my lord you folks are really slow on the sarcasm front this morning.

Outside of the grant of rights, the ACC is a mess. Any realignment could cause the ACC to implode and who knows what would happen then.

No way this is happening. Duke probably makes more money on football than basketball with the way the ACC football TV contracts are structured.

Nice neat concise post. Let ‘s consider your post as the closing argument of this case of Duke Go vs. Duke Stay.

The jury Verdict = Stay!

Aside from this insane post, you are aware the the ACC has 7 former BE teams? Miami, V Tech, Cuse, Pitt, L'vill, BC and Dame. Just wanted to be sure that you were aware.

What you say is true about firmer BE teams in the ACC but what does that have to do with Duke jumping ship. Which they will never do.

I chose to only address the part where it stated four teams that left. The rest of the post wasn't something I wanted to address.
