Nova is a small-time university, not to even be mentioned in the same breath. It's no coincidence that the majority of their success came after the big dogs left.

I mean you can debate which school is better but both have roughly the same ranking in US News and World Report with Villanova having the edge.

Basketball isn’t really close though. 3 national championships to 1 is pretty decisive. And to your previous point about them only having success after realignment, they went to a final four prior to that and won a national championship. Plus, since the NBE, it’s not like they only won the conference and flamed out in the tourney. They proved they were the best of everyone twice by winning it all. You could argue that they are the premier program in the entire country. The sustained success Villanova is having blows anything Syracuse has ever done out of the water.

I like Nova, but they did it when the big dog left the yard. The big dog is back and Nova better get it done again this year. In 22-23 we will be back where we belong for quite some time.
