And a money-maker for the media. There's a lot of talent in 19/20/21/22 and ESPN will want Bueckers-Fudd games against everyone. There's going to be pressure on top programs to schedule games, even those who prefer to bake cupcakes. Bueckers drew male fans as a high school player.

It was a shock because it was her first game. I expect her play to be consistent throughout the year, and she be named FOW several more times. Even on nights when she has an “exceptional“ game, folks will get use to it and brush it off thinking that’s just Paige being Paige.

If I recall correctly, Rebecca Lobo set the record for being named Big East Freshman of the Week 7 times. That was in 1991-92. In 2007-08, Maya Moore was named Big East Freshman of the Week 10 times. It was one of many records that Maya shattered. I suggested that the Big East name the award after Maya.
