It's a "results oriented world"......It is rather important though to take into account what are your goals.... and measure your
"results". "Life" can be a function of judging something based on an " internal locus of control "
vs judging something based on an " external locus of control". Both "controls" are always there, IMO,
but knowing the balance/nature of each could spell the difference between contentment and
.... you fill in the blank.

Not directly responding to the clip, but in a similar vein, and especially relevant to some recent threads on the Boneyard.

One of my favorite quotes is from, IIRC, Henry Ford: "Don't find fault, find a solution." The results matter, but negative results often arise from the process.

Coaches & sports management often say to trust the process when a team is losing games, isn't able to make the playoffs, or losing championship opportnities.
It's a boiler plate excuse to help fans continue to have faith in the team & have faith in the future.
Only one team can win a championship whether it's a conference or national champisonsip, the rest of the teams are losers.
Sure the process is important because they want the fans to continue to buy tickets to support the team & the sports industry that's built around it.
They're selling hope to the fans because that's the process of making a financial profit & justifying the existenace of each individual sports team, their management & staff & media writers, etc...
It's always a process, they play the games & they either win or lose.
All of the players are champs, some are just luckier than others depending on how the ball bounces.
You don't hear them saying that a team was awarded the champsion was ship by the referees.
Instead they say "trust the processs" & we'll see you next year, hope to have better luck next year.

That's why after a while, the fans get tired of hearing the same old excuse about waiting for the process for a team to become winners.
So they'll fire the assistant coaches, the scouts & other staff, the coach, & even the atheltic director to begin the process all over again with new staff that promote a renewed or improved process.
They may even pressure athletes to transfer to bring some better athletes.

I think the reality is that random players are put together on a team & the coach mixes & shakes them up well & then sees what kind of gourmet meal that they can cook up with them.
If a school has stronger NIL resources then they can get some better players to add flavor to the mix.
It's all part of the process.
They try to make the fans & the players believe that they're special whether they win or not.
They're all warriors from the top of the roster to the bottom.
It's both a sports process & a business process.
There's still a lot of salemansship involved no matter how you look at it.
Everyone has something that they're trying to sell, each player, school, program, coach, league, the NCAA.
They're all invested in the process of making athetes into "champions."
The process has a lot of mutiual benefits for all involved.
This year you're a champion & next year someone else will be the next champion.

Shea Ralph was a huge and continuing loss for UConn! I believe the deterioration of our defensive play can be at least partially attributed to her absence!
