"UConn DT Shamar Stephen had another solid showing. He’s big, but also a quick, disruptive player."

From the same article:

Aaron Donald had a great week. He just dominated the 1-on-1 drills. It wasn’t fair to the guys he went against. Donald exploded off the ball. He also stayed low and used his hands well. 4-3 teams that play a 1-gap system will be in love with this guy.

Spot-on. He just blew up every O linemen he lined up against. Quick on the snap, strong as a bull, he gets under the pads and just drives. A pleasure to watch.

It looked like the North offensive linemen weren't that great. Heard several scouts talking about how much bigger, stronger and faster the South linemen were on both sides of the ball. Donald is one of the guys whose actual performance on Saturday can cement his draft status.

South dominating as predicted up 20-3 at half. Stephens , IMO, hasn't looked great. Blown off the the ball on the first drive a few times, seems to have been a non factor throughout. I'm confused about the team assignments. For example, how is Miami in the north and north Dakota state in the south?±

South has more playmakers and just better overall talent.

Shamar didn't stand out but his week of work matters much more than the game itself.

*UConn's Stephen has two tackles in Senior Bowl

Former UConn defensive tackle and team captain Shamar Stephen had one solo tackle and assisted on another in today's Senior Bowl but it wasn't enough as the North team lost to the South 20-10 in the Senior Bowl.

He teamed with North Carolina's Kareem Martin to throw Coastal Carolina's Lorenzo Taliaferro for a two-yard loss on the North team's first defensive possession of the fourth quarter and made a solo stop on Taliaferro on the game's final play.

Stephen, named the MVP of the UConn team, had a pretty strong week of practice as the Senior Bowl by all accounts and he has been invited to next month's NFL Combine.<<

*edited w/ updated article.

Nice little mention of Mike Patterson ad Bob Diaco near the end of the third quarter. Any mention is good

I watched. He was slow off the snap, got little push and had a lack luster game. Love SS but that is the truth.

He needs to step up at the combine to get into the draft because based on this performance he is 7th round or UDFA.

He had a pretty week at the Senior bowl practices and should remain a mid round pick. I do think he needs to have a good week at the combines if he wants to get in the top three rounds. Otherwise he will be a fifth rounder or so.

He was well within the norms of the DLinemen. I know they don't measure arm length like we do for our shirts. I wear a 34/35 sleeve and I can guarantee you that Shamar's arms are longer than mine.

Check out the link for the official weigh-in results.

Good to know about the measurements... but he is still at the low end for length and reach. And I want him to get drafted, signed, and have a long healthy career. Just pointing out a measurable that is in the wrong direction.
