Recently, someone here noted that she tend to shoot and never pass. Her first collegiate game was tonight against Coppin State, a weak opponent. She shot only 3-11 from the floor and 6-10 from the line, but here are 2 eye-catching stats:

21 rebounds

7 blocks

So that's 3 rebounds for every missed shot, right? The Shaq method trickles down to Shak.

In today's WashPost, Brenda was beside herself in praise of her team. The Terps won by 30 over a team from an obscure Baltimore school with fewer than 3000 students. Geno says not to take these cupcake games seriously in evaluating a team. If you go to war against cardboard cut-outs, you're bound to look good. Substitute those for real players offering real resistance and see how you do. Maryland's always had certain problems: stuffing its schedule with roll-overs and wasting top talent. Occasionally something good happens; the Terps won it all about 17 years ago. That's on a par with Muffet's winning one every 17 years, too. Bound to happen.

Most impressive Freshmen for MD in the game was Taylor Mikesell-She can flat out play. She started at PG, Hit 4 and dropped 4 dimes. Looks like Brenda has found another quality PG. Now how long can Brenda keep her.

Wow, that's a slam. How many other coaches have won 2 NC this millennium? I count Geno, Pat, Kim, and Muffet. I guess it wasn't bound to happen with much frequency. Geno is a great coach, but slamming every coach that isn't Geno seems inappropriate and unnecessary.

Hey, it's a UCONN board. There are fans on here with a very strong dislike for ND. Was what he said factually inaccurate?

I would argue that the "bound to happen" dig was factually inaccurate. If it was so likely to happen, then why have only 4 people done it the past 20 years? It is quite possible that Muffet and Notre Dame actually earned it.

Wrong. Saying something was "bound to happen" is not a fact. Saying she has won a NC once every 17 years was not factually inaccurate. Like I said, this is a UCONN board. Sorry your feathers were ruffled.

I neither attacked you nor was pleased when you were booted. Dillon, Orangutan and myself like discussion on the ND board, but the moderators there have low tolerance for posts that primarily promote an adversary.

All I'm doing here is defending an attack on my team. That's a bit different than your behavior on the ND board, In addition, the moderators here have created a much more welcoming climate for outsiders. I wish the Irish board was more cosmopolitan, to be honest.

Perhaps I'm wasting my time discussing this issue with you, but I did not take offense to his comment that it took Notre Dame 17 seasons after its first NC to secure its second. I took offense to his characterization that it was lucky (bound to happen). I thought I made that point clear in my post and subsequent posts.

@Fightin Choke when a response starts with a reminder that you are on a UCONN board you are in pretty good shape. Today you were lucky enough to get 2 of them. As Ice cube would say: "Today was a good day."
Tomorrow you should start your post with a reminder that Muffet is the defending national championship coach. That will kick the retoheritic up a notch.

Fair enough. And looks like you were lucky enough to have a "guardian angel" LOL. Always one in a crowd! Seriously, enjoy your posts. Still don't like ND tho! :)

no, not blaming you at all......................actually I was trying to be a bit humorous....................I have no problem with you defending your program of choice..........................for the most part the BY is receptive to non UConn posters unlike the ND Board that views almost any positive UConn post as an act of war........................I enjoy getting perspectives from those outside the UConn bubble, that's one of the pleasures of this place......................please carry on!!!!

And I don't particularly like UConn either. But I respect them and what they have accomplished very much. And when I see unwarranted attacks on UConn by posters on NDnation, I post my disagreement with many of them, pointing out the inaccuracies in what they post.

As for my guardian angel, my thanks to Coco! I think when you surpass 1 million Boneyard points, you ascend to UConn heaven and sit at the right hand of Nan, JS, and Biff the Destroyer.

Honestly, I rarely see you push back on your board but maybe I missed those posts. There are plenty of slams of Geno and the posters here and recently the UConn players and I didn’t see push-back from anyone. At least here UConn fans will push back on others. Also calling ND and Muffet lucky is rather tame.

I guess you do miss my remarks defending UConn. I went back as far as the archive goes on McGraw's bench (4/2/2018) and in those few months I found a few instances of defending UConn.

Here are some. You can judge if you think I defended UConn.

4/14/18: I agree. While I can understand Megan being disappointed in

4/14/18: Geno will make you humble. He breaks down all his players

4/22/18: Charlie is correct. He is not a bad guy, and he is not a

5/20/18: Faris was an amazing player in college, partly for her

10/20/18: I think you are making the point a bit too strongly in this
