I was wondering where exactly Shabazz was slotted coming out of high school. I know he came to UConn a year early I think (had enuf credits), so his ranking got screwed up a lil due to his late addition, but was he a top 100 guard? Where was he slotted compared to other guards that year? I may be a little partial but there's not many programs that develop players like UConn.

On Rivals he was rated 25th best point and 98 overall player.
On Scout he was rated 14th best point and 88th overall play

Most recruiting sites I've seen had him around the 20th best PG and in the bottom of the top 100. Bazz wasn't a diamond in the rough but there is no debating that Calhoun, Kemba, Ollie and the program as a whole developed him into a top-tier player and person.

His composite ranking in the final 2010 rankings was 75. But you're right that the late classification was probably a wildcard and could have had something to do with his ranking.

Jeremy Lamb at 78. LOL. How many guys above him are or will be in the NBA? 20 at most?

Things like this happen all the time ... but UConn seems to be the most consistent. You'll occasionally see a Damian Lillard or Doug McDermott at a mid-major but it seems UConn is the only major program that produces guys like this consistently.

If I remember correctly, he was in the 40s or 50s of the ESPNU Super 60 before he committed and reclassified. I believe because of this, he never made it onto their Top100. However, RecruitingNation used to have this option where you could look at all the prospects in a class by ranking, without it being the official ESPNU top 100 (hope that makes sense). On this database list, he was slotted between the number 97 and 98 top 100 players. I remember this for a fact. Therefore, I always considered him number 98 on the 2010 ESPNU top 100.
