This will not make the people who believe Goodman is anti UConn happy

If you had to start your team with any point guard in the country right now, whom would you pick?

Goodman: This is a brutal decision because there are so many good ones: Marcus Smart, Aaron Craft, Keith Appling, Tyler Ennis. However, I'm going with Connecticut point guard Shabazz Napier. He's the most complete out of all of them. He may not be an explosive athlete, but he can score in any way you need. He shoots extremely well from deep (47.3 percent), can finish around the basket and is a willing and effective passer. Napier rebounds his position about as well as anyone in the nation and is a terrific defender. And oh yeah, he's also one of the toughest kids I've ever been around. If you surrounded Napier with guys like Gary Harris, Adreian Payne and Branden Dawson, or even with Markel Brown and Le'Bryan Nash, he just might hang a banner this season

For the record Bilas picked Smart

If I was put with Gary Harris Adrian Payne Markell brown and Le'bryan Nash I could win a chip

To be fair, that is exactly what Goodman was saying.
He was saying if he was on Mich St he would be more likely to win a championship, is that inaccurate? Mich state does have a better roster than us, I do not think that is debatable.

Some people only see the negative and never the positive, Goodman calls him the best PG in the country and would him over ANYONE else, but people focus on the fact that Goodman makes an obvious and accurate statement that if he was on Mich St he would have a better chance at winning the title.

Aside from Appling. He phrases it in a way that leaves his meaning up for interpretation.

Honestly just give UConn Paybe and I'd take UConn any day of the week

It's also not an unfair observation. Shabazz is probably the best point guard in the country and he's playing on the least talented UConn team in the last 20 years. I was watching Arizona play the other day and whoever was calling the game called TJ McConnell "maybe the best point guard in the country." Shabazz would eat his lunch - he just gets to hand the ball to a bunch of NBA players.

Agreed. It was what Goodman was saying and it has some validity. Weve got guys who can step it up and prove him wrong but it ain't happened yet unfortunately.

Here's what I got out of what Goodman was saying
Shabazz is the best point guard in college basketball!!!!!!!!!!!!

But we already knew that

wonder if last nights performance changed Jay's mind
Listening to the broadcast, you would think so. In the last 5 minutes, every time Shabazz made a play, Bilas would follow it by saying "Are you kidding me?!"
