Shabazz up for Best Championship Performance, Ollie for Coach (against Geno), and the Team for Best Upset. We really deserve to win Upset seeing we are up against Mercer beating Duke and a UFC match.
 
We weren't really a huge underdog in any of the tourney games. +3 to Kentucky, +6 to florida, +5.5 to MSU, +1.5 to ISU, +3.5 to Nova and -4.5 to St Joes. While we strung together a lot of underdog victories, and our accomplishment was far superior... Mercer was a 14 point dog and beat almighty Duke…. so you have to think they got that one… at least in the eyes of the talking heads at ESPN and the completely uninformed that thought Duke was so good last year and was a properly seeded 3 seed going into the tournament with 8 losses!!

The ESPYS are kind of a joke in my eyes, but the exposure will obviously be great for the program. I'm sure a lot of recruits watch it, and seeing Ollie and Bazz up for all those awards will probably make an impression on them.
 
Mercer I hope wins the upset award. Its like keeping George Mason alive. They deserve it.

After all who did we 'really' upset?

Which is more rare: a 14 seed beating a 3 (happens at least once every other year) or a 7 seed beating a 1, 2, 3, and 4 seed on the way to winning everything?
 
Four NCs in 16 years, and the narrative is still 'UConn is the underdog', 'this is unexpected', 'out of nowhere', etc.?

We were not a 7 seed. Not in the eyes of the handicappers. Were were capped around a 5 seed, maybe a tad higher. Nova was a 2 seed and they were only a 3 point favorite over us.

No one was picking us to win it all and I have my pool winnings to prove it. What we did was rare odds wise.
 
I picked us to win. And I had florida in the final. 4 along with Kentucky and wisky in the final. 8. And I only got top 500 in the billion dollar bracket challenge.

Stupidest thing ever. The sports have their awards it's called a victory, MVP, National Championship, etc.
 
I hope Mercer wins just so they play highlights of them beating Duke

UConn was given 1/100 odds to win the tournament when it started. They had worse odds than Florida, KY, and Wisconsin when the Final 4 started. I'd say we upset a lot of people.

But by all means you can go vote for a 14 seed beating an overrated Duke team in 1 game compared to your own team winning 6 games to win the championship, 5 against higher favored seeds, a month after losing by 33 points to Louisville in a time when people were declaring the program dead, when we had our conference pulled out from underneath us, and a year after we were banned. And coached by a coach in his first ever tournament. They don't have a Best F' You All category so this will have to suffice.

I guarantee you more people had Mercer beating Duke than had UConn winning the whole thing. The only reason the entire basketball world isn't/wasn't flipping out about the run is because UConn already had a firmly established championship pedigree.

But now go ahead and continue to pedantically defend your stupid post.

Just by glancing at their board the week after we won the title, I'd say we upset a lot of Cuse fans.
