This is a game that a good UConn team wins by 20. This team is mediocre. Given its current level of play it doesn’t deserve to make the tournament.

They are not mediocre, even mediocre teams win this one. This is a bad team with a lot of talent. Missing pieces, poor basketball IQ.

When you are the self professed best coach in college basketball you have to have an inbounds play? No?

Intentionally fouling when you can’t inbound is such an excellent strategy.

So much for McNeeley being the savior. Ball and Reed with boneheaded playes in OT cost us. That last play ball should of just held on to it even if it was a jump ball. That is totally unacceptable performance and is on Danny Hurley for not getting them prepared. Our inbound plays are awful. What are they teaching these kids?

Also shouldn’t have been in that situation, shoudve had Ross clutch and grab when he was in earlier in the game to set a tone.

That was legit some of the worst coaching I've ever seen. Hurley can joke all he wants about not having to win close games because we blow everyone out, he can point to his rings yada yada. He still stinks in possession games at the end. Can't ever even inbound the ball and he's completely screwed around with Tarris all season.

He better own that loss in the presser because it was all on him.

Also, Hurley called a TO on the final defensive possession of regulation, why in the hell did he not tell them to foul?? They were literally in the perfect position to do so with the ball careening back after the missed dunk. Given what we saw today they probably would still screwed up inbounding the ball after free throws but you gotta foul there up 3.

Lost in this is that Alex actually made some outside shots and scored. But we just couldn’t inbound the ball. I’m seeing too many stationary guys on our inbounds plays. We need to run more stacked plays with a couple of screeners. We are spaced out all over the floor but generally one or two of those guys are standing still. It’s insane. I never saw that with Hawk and Cam. I don’t recognize this type of execution on inbounding compared to recent years.

100%. I asked if he was point shaving at the end of regulation, and it got worse.

Also, fouling up 3 is a great idea EXCEPT IF YOU CANNOT INBOUNDS THE BALL. And stop making Alex the inbounder. He has a mental block.

Hurley is a terrible game coach. The won 2 NCs because they had double digit leads in all games. Hurley is aweful in tight games. These players are bad enough (who ever coached Ball to dribble towards the middle with 9 secs left?). But to struggle to inbounds the ball 4 times at end of game? This was all on Hurley. Needs to suspend himself for a couple games.

Trying to inbounds like a 6th grade team is bad enough. Just being in that position against SHU is a complete disaster. A team that sheets the bed this badly in Feb is not good. Crazy no calls at the end too but still, what a freaking disaster.

He sucks at drawing up in-bounds and end of game plays. I mean S-U-C-K-S. Needs to stop believing the hype and work on his glaring weaknesses as a coach. Clingan covered up a lot of mistakes. He can plan for next year, because we aren't making the NCAA Tournament now unless we win the Big East Tournament, and that's a long-shot.

Yeah just hold the ball. You at least get a held ball. Instead they get a turnover and easy layup.
