Seton Hall Scouting Report

Sounds like it will be an ugly low scoring game with lots of fouls. That's ok. We need practice winning all types of games because you never know who you will face come tourney time. This will be a real test for Silas to see if he can stay out of foul trouble. Might be a good game for Reibe to shine if Reed fouls give him more minutes. Also another chance for Smith to prove his critics wrong if Silas can't stay on the floor. Or maybe Solo can fill some of those PG minutes if necessary? Eventually we have to win one at the Rock. Can't go 0-5. Let's go!

Solo has shown to be a decent ball handler this season. I think we’ll need that.
This game is going to be about taking care of the ball. Keep our turnovers down and we should be okay.

Definitely need to take care of the ball. Might be a good time to play Silas and Mal together in the back court for extended minutes.

Seton Hall just landed at 25 in this weeks AP poll. I'm sure this gives them even greater motivation knowing that winning will jump them up in the poll while losing will result in them dropping out. Just about every Big East opponent is going to view their games against UConn as their Super Bowl, and for some, must wins to build their tournament resume.

I know the conference is down a bit, but many of these conference games will further battle test UConn for the BET and NCAA tournaments.

Hurley has lost 4 or 5 in a row @Hall including a tough 1 point OT loss last year and one of only two BE losses in the 37-3 championship season, and they lost at hall in the first championship season too. Hurley seems to have some block @hall I'd like to see him get over. Plus they'll have an extra bounce in their step being ranked at home. Plus a win brings them within .5 of 1st place in the BE. I think this turns out being an ugly 61-59 type of game or even possibly threatening towards low 50s for much of the game. Dan has done SO much, let's beat a good SH on the road now.

To be fair one of those games was Kamani at the helm because Hurley was sick with covid. Another I believe that Cling either got hurt in or missed entirely. But yeah that place has been a house of horrors for UConn the past few years. Hopefully last years collapse was the bottom and we can turn the tide tonight.

If we operate well at the perimeter out guards will have shots all night as switching defenders thru screens gets a step for us and over shorter defenders is a real advantage.

Then that opens up Tarris who has a height and weight advantage to get hood looks for bunnies and dunks.

AK will be magical at offensive rebounding putbacks and Ross will add defense as needed and Stewart can handle their small forward if Braylon cannot.

We have too many answers for a Seton Hall team that only defends well and cannot score so well.

No need to worry. Thanks Greg.

Good stuff. Could also use a psychologist for Hurley. Well documented how he feels bad that he didn't perform as well as a player for Seton Hall. I think he deep down likes to lose to help Seton Hall get a W. This must change tonight.

Danny your good enough, smart enough, you deserve good things and people like you especially in Connecticut. Time to crush your alma mater at their place. Go Huskies!

Don’t know how many of you have seen Seton Hall play. This game will be an absolute war. They are the best defensive team we will play all year and they play extremely hard. This is their Super Bowl, World Series, Stanley Cup and NBA championship series game 7 wrapped into one game. They are offensively challenged but that does not seem to bother them. If they are down 15 it means they need to play harder. And they will. I love the way they play except when they play us. They foul all the time like they think they won’t call them all. Turnovers and officiating will be key

Non called fouls by them will definitely be an issue. It has been the script for BE officials against UConn since UConn rejoined the conference. If Breeding is there or the guy with the grey hair, forget it.

The doubters didn't see their comeback against Georgetown.

Hopefully they foul more than us. We own the perimeter game vs them and generally are taller at most positions.

Their D is formidable but ours is better. It’s their offense that lags us by 100 or so on KenPom.

Tarris is gonna get his honey for sure. Braylon will bring the rain and Captain America is automatic. We want Silas the Virus dishing and stealing and hitting his 3s and driving.

Hoping for a HOT Start this evening. Playing Catch Up may not be as easy as it was against the earlier BE teams.
