Keep an eye on Lauren Park-Lane. We know from Crystal Dangerfield's play, that being 5'6" isn't necessarily a liability. Lauren is a sophomore and had a career-high 29 points tonight. She made All-State in Delaware 4 times. She also made All-Conference 5 times. You know who else made All-Conference in Delaware 5 times? Elena Delle Donne. Lauren also made the Big East All-Academic team as a freshman.

If she’s 5’6”, I’m 5’6”...

And I’m 5’1” with shoes.

That being said, she played her ass off tonight. A lot of talent and heart in that little body.

She didn't seem like she was playing over her head to me, scoring PB not withstanding.

Sometimes, UConn has a way of making good players look great. See how she does her next few games.

She’s 5-4 at best. Slick and quick. And still can’t be more than 14 years old.
I thought younger but maybe 14. 5-4 seems generous. Reminds me of my high school football career as an OL. I was listed at 185 pounds but only if I was carrying a 25 pound barbell.

She gives me major Morgan William vibes and because of that, I don't like her. Haaaaaa

In all seriousness though, sometimes being that small can help you if you're that quick. We lost her a lot tonight, especially in the first half, and she torched us. I mean, she is so tiny, yet so athletic, that it's easy to lose her.

I think she was also sharp in last years game. Hard to believe her prior scoring record was 18 pts??

She was a tough guard for sure. Hartford native Elmore was also very tough. You could tell she wanted give UConn her best shot (I thought she was going to foul out in the first half).

Seton Hall had some really good stretches but UConn was too much for them. Good team though.

She said something in the third quarter that made C. Williams respond and then Westbrook said something back. At that point, Westbrook was taken out of the game and CD could be seen talking to her. That was right before Paige made that full court five second drive that netted a basket and a foul. UConn finally has a player that can finish at the end of a quarter.

This 5'6" little chick can play and outscored PB in the game!!
She also took at least seven more shots. But she was hard for UConn to guard. They needed her to shoot that often.

She played great but she threw up a few prayers that went in also .. very quick and has surprising hops ..

Remember when Geno said that Moriah Jefferson looked like an escapee from the 8th grade her freshman year at his annual golf tournament? Well IMO, so does Lauren Park-Lane. She's tiny. But boy is she fun to watch. She's listed at 5'6", but I think that's a stretch. She's fearless, not afraid to shoot, and is "cat" quick. UConn could not stop her. Neither can anyone else. SHE CAN PLAY!!! I remember her from last year. We get to watch her for two more years. She is their "go to" player. She will be their leading scorer. She took 20 shots in this game, and made 9 of 10 FT. I like her!!! :)

Park-Lane is a quick player and caused problems for sure. She made 9 of twenty from the floor. But 9 of ten from the charity stripe. The refs were too protective of her when she went to hoop all out of control and off balance though. Drew fouls that were just crap calls. But she was a handful for sure. She took advantage of the situation to get us in foul trouble.

No joke, ubart. That annoying little Morgan cost us a NC. The Miss. St. loss put us out of the tourney, and paved the way for SC to win. UConn had beaten the Gamecocks on their court that season by 18 points, and we would have been heavy favorites to win it all but for that little woman. It might be noted that Napheesa Collier missed blocking William's shot by mere inches. Ugh.
'Pheesa and Lou won the NC in Stewie's last year but not afterward. Many of us thought the team was a shoo-in the last 2 seasons of the high-scoring duo's tenure. But first Morgan and then the much reviled Arike broke our hearts with last-minute heroics. Ugh, again.
