Can not stand Seth Davis
I agree jerry. This guy is a complete jerkoff. He lives in the same town as me and acts like hes some hotshot around here because he's on TV a few months out of the year. I also can no longer watch CBS halftime show. He was bad enough. Now add Doug Gotlieb to the mix, that's one too many dbags for my liking.

Anyways Ollie is the man and it seems as he always says the right thing. We're lucky to have him.

Uh oh. I don't really like that first quote. Not that it's a bad quote, just that it speaks to the only place I could ever see him leaving UConn for, the NBA. Sounds like he doesn't enjoy dealing with our wonderful president and AD on a regular basis, and would prefer to just focus on basketball. NBA would allow him to do that.

Probably making something out of nothing, but thought it was interesting.

It's funny how Seth Davis says "I assumed you would be named head coach eventually." No you didn't Seth! You repeatedly said on twitter that you didn't think KO would be named permanent coach after the season. What a fraud

So its Ollie's mom who has cultivated his way with words. "When you fall down, pick something up." Absolutely.

"I really mean this. If you take the meaning of an event and you make your own meaning of it, it's not that hard. I tell our players, you still have a blessing. You're at the University of Connecticut. You've got a free scholarship. You get to play in front of the greatest fans anywhere. Some people don't even wake up. Some people can't move. Some people can't walk and talk. I just tell our kids to go out there and play for the love of the game and play for each other, because you'll never get these days back."

Easy to see how he is such a good motivator. He's got these kids playing great basketball and, despite the absence of a postseason, ensures that theyre still playing for something.

It will be interesting to see if he can motivate them next year in the same way. The team is playing loose now because they've got no pressure of making a postseason and its probably helping them a bit. But next year there will be higher expectations and a post-season burden, we will see.

The thing is is that you can tell it's not BS with him. You can tell that believes every word and so it's easy for the kids to believe too. We are very lucky to have him.

Yeah, you're making something out of nothing there.

Thanks for the link. Great story. As much as Kevin talks about humility, blessings and turning negatives to positives, I come away thinking how truly fortunate we have been to have this man take over the stewardship of our basketball program. Not just for the basketball; because, as you can easily see, what he brings to the university community is every bit as valuable as the most talented academic professor on the staff.
