Congrats ro Serena on a great career and she is certainly in GOAT talks-but I will die on this hill.......

If Monica Seles had not gotten stabbed, she would've been the UNDISPUTED women's tennis GOAT. And it's not close.

We've never been robbed and cheated out of athletic greatness like we were hers.
Monica Seles won 8 majors by the time she was 19 when she was stabbed, Serena won 1 by that age.

Great player and a fearsome pair of sisters - without Venus winning in a few Major finals (and knocking her out in earlier rounds as well), Serena would likely own the top spot in Major victories

Just one more name Chris Evert the queen of clay and one of the modern era greats.

And since we like winning streaks here at Uconn - Martina Navrotilova has the longest match winning streak of 74. On top of her 18 singles major titles she also has 31 doubles titles and 10 mixed doubles titles including a US Open at age 49.

She's the greatest tennis player of all-time men's or women's.
I believe the train just derailed! Great women’s player? No doubt!
Greatest women’s player? Possibly! Greatest of all time, women or men? No! That is a bridge too far, I’m afraid.
