Perhaps we get a Kayleigh commitment post tomorrow so Serah gets her shine today. Nice of them to take turns! ;)
Sounds like a plan, but it won't stop me from checking the 'yard every hour on the hour...

I'm guessing the Kayleigh Heckel commitment gets posted at 12:36 tomorrow post-noon, but hoping for 10:39 a.m. as that is the conversion of 09:99 into standard (time) form [9 hours and 99 minutes after midnight for K9 commitment to the UConn Huskies].

Go Huskies!!!

As I said in another thread - "Don't forget, UConn is pretty much radio silence until either the player or the school announces the signing. No flash, no big productions, so we'll all need quite a bit of patience until all is said and done."

No pictures of recruits in uniforms, no neon signs, no instagram posts with players out on the town. It's never about one person, it's about the program. Family.
What??? I can't believe Geno doesn't subscribe to the "little birdies incoming to the roost" method of communication!!

Whether Kayleigh comes to UConn or not I took a look at her stats for this past year.
BTW: she was a frosh...has 3 years of eligibility remaining....hmm!

USC was an elite team all year...losing JuJu hurt them late in The Dance.
Kayleigh played 17 minutes a game...averaged 6 points/2 assists...overall shot
46% from the floor....near 80% from the foul line.

I'd be very inclined to say 'Go Geno!

Whoa! Talk about a big line-up...

Serah Williams - (6'4") - 5; (off the bench; Jana El-Alfy, 6'5"; Gandy Malou Mamel, 6'6")
Blanca Quinonez - (6'2") - 4; (off the bench; Ice Brady, 6'3", Ayanna Patterson, 6'2")
Sarah Strong (6'2") - 3; (off the bench; Caroline Ducharme, 6'2")
Azzi Fudd (5'11") - 2; (off the bench; Ashlyn Shade, 5'10", Allie Ziebell, 6'0")
Morgan Cheli - (6'2") - 1. (off the bench KK Arnold, 5'9", Kelis Fisher, 5'9", and possibly Kaitlyn Haeckle, 5'9")
Gandy 6'6"
Jana 6'5"
Serah 6'4"
Sarah 6'2"
Blanca 6'2" Now that is a tall team.

Just read this sentence from another article. Implies that there are expectations for Heckel as well:

"UConn coach Geno Auriemma has made it known that two players have officially visited and will most likely commit to the Huskies. One such player is Serah Williams, a former Wisconsin forward who averaged 19.2 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game in the 2024–2025 season."
You posted this early on in the thread... I missed your post... where did you read this? Talk about tea leaves!! Who Kayliegh follows on Twitter has nothing on Geno's specific comments!!!!

Does anyone really UNDERSTAND how dangerous this makes UConn!!????

This allows postionless Sarah Strong to play the 3. we all know Geno loves to play 3 guards.

KK (or sub in Ash)
Azzi
SARAH
SERAH
Jana

Hahahahahahahahhahah it’s kinda comedic

Let’s just pray everyone stays healthy. See you all in Phoenix.

GO HUSKIES
So you're predicting that our starting lineup will include:

K, Sarah, Serah?

Well, whatever will be, will be.

March Madness will be a bit anticlimactic, just hand us the trophy.

OK, I thought Geno had a problem last year figuring out the rotation. Next year, harder. I'm not going to pick a starting line-up, but these are my observations:
  • KK and Ashlyn, based on their bench playing last year, deserve to start for their hard work and attitude, especially having started their first year.
  • With Ash and Azzi, we have only 2 good shooters at the guard position if KK cannot improve her 3 point shooting.
  • Serah and Jana cannot both start. I didn't watch the entire video of her, but what did not see was an outside shot. Like I said, I only watched about half in case I missed it.
Hell, ok, here it goes.
Sarah
Serah
Ashlynn
KK
Azzi

If healthy, I think Yanna will be a huge surprise to everyone. I believe her rebounding alone will be a big deal.

Blanca, Morgan, Allie, Yanna, Caroline, Kelis
What a NIGHTMARE LMA.................................O
Even if Genos brain gets a little slow, even that can't screw up this team.
#7th undefeated season-GET READY

Just enjoy "winning the play in front of you" every play - defense or offense. It finally worked for Paige, AND more importantly for Sarah on the first attempt! Now to get #2 for many, and #1 for some!

Just keep winning the play in front of you!!! The score will take care of itself.

Waiting (not-so-patiently) for Kayleigh's commitment to the UConn Huskies to fulfill Geno's prediction, as he is right a lot around here!!!

Go Huskies!!!

Something to consider. After winning the national championship in dominant fashion and losing the best player in WBB to the W, the Huskies just might be better next year. For sure adding Serah makes UConn better on defense, following a season when the Huskies lead the nation in defense. Offense will take some work. But all those pieces to mix and match, including now a legitimate low post scoring Big who can also step out and hit midrange shots.

When does the season start? :)

Gandy 6'6"
Jana 6'5"
Serah 6'4"
Sarah 6'2"
Blanca 6'2" Now that is a tall team.
I had imagined that Blanca had more of a guard's body -- like Juju. And that Ice would still be "bigger" if not taller. Is that not the case?

There were some on the BY who believed that Serah's signing would stunt Jana's growth......I don't view it that way at all.......
I agree. It strategically allows Ice to move into a back up for the 4 position which is her natural position with her shot. As for Jana, it will be of benefit because she will likely play the same minutes or thereabouts with no let up underneath when she isn't in there.
