Senior Day

In recent years, I don't remember them publishing the list of seniors before the game. You could figure it out after the game with the pictures of the festivities and press reports.

So we’re less than 24 hours until game time. Has anyone seen a list of seniors being honored? We used to publicize stuff like this ahead of time.

Honoring the Seniors

There are 33 players on the UConn roster listed as either graduate students or seniors, a group that includes QB Joe Fagnano, WRs Skyler Bell, Reymello Murphy and Chris Parker, DBs D’Mon Brinson, Devin Pringle, Tyrece Mills, Malachi McLean, punter Conor Stutz, kicker Chris Freeman, RB Cam Edwards, OL Wes Hoeh and Kyle Juergens, tight ends Louis Hansen and Alex Honig, LBs Bryun Parham, Tyquan King, and Amir Renwick, among others. Mel Brown is also listed as a senior, but may redshirt after an injury suffered early in the season.”

I just went through the list The UConn Blog posted and there were some surprises:

R-Juniors: Ty Chan, Cam Edwards, Nick Evers, Kylish Hicks, Matt Hoffman, Lee Mollette, Ben Murawski, Victor Rosa
R-Sophmores: Kobi Albert, Brady Wayburn

Maybe some come back, but the OL is taking a big hit if Chan, Murawski, and Wayburn don't come back.

Damn, that's a lot people Mora and staff will have to replace for next year. I guess they will cross that bridge later, let's defeat Air Force to get a perfect home record for this year.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say Joey 7 Years Heisman

Yeah, I’m not panicked about that list. The new reality is what it is, but my money is that everyone who is on track to have their degree before the start of next season will be honored and the list is done without regards to whether they know they will be back, know they won’t or don’t know yet.

But, with the dearth of info we get from the school these days on the roster, who the heck knows

Unless the player wants to "retire", won't the guys with no current chance at NFL want to get paid to play FB for one more year? Not sure what a guy like Chan makes as an example, but it would be awesome to have another year in the program with him. Murawski needs one healthy year to really show what he can do, Unless he is tired of being hurt and just calls it a day, he'd be happy to get another year to develop and maybe gain a shot at the next level.

Dayuum that’s a lot of talent.

They'll honor all graduates, then figure out the dollars and who/whom wishes to return to UConn. There's certainly the chance that some of them will have other or potentially more lucrative opportunities. Brown didn't play yesterday from what I saw, so presumably he could play @FAU (if cleared) and in a bowl game and still redshirt

Other than Edwards, I can't see any of those players getting lucrative offers from any p4 conferences. Our OL this year while performing well pass blocking wise, has been a step down in run blocking from last year. Check the pff scores for confirmation of the eye tests.

Since we are one of the higher paying g5 schools, there has to be something else in play here. I could see playing time for instance with a guy like Rosa.
