@HuskyNan has agreed to handle the money for this endeavor. I'll start off with 100 bucks. Nan, where can we send the money. Can we pin this as the donation thread? We can keep the other one to discuss the process and we can create another one when we announce the contest.

I can set up a Tilt or Go Fund Me account but would need to specify a goal (I think). Or, we can use my PayPal, same as last time. Any preference?

I think go fund me works. You can always set the dollar figure low, I think. Anyone?

Ok, so go fund me takes 5%, but once your goal is met, you can continue to accept contributions.

Tilt is 3% and the average collection is 192% of goal.

Can verify for tilt- have used it multiple times for money collections at UConn and it works great. Realistically once we find out where/when the bowl game is it will be easier to see how much we need to contribute. Pinstripe bowl requires a lot less than say Cure Bowl.

Also just to settle this now are we going to send kids to Hawaii or not? Can't imagine that is even remotely close to financially feasible plus it is on Dec 24

Never know. Last time we planned on sending one, but collected enough money to send 4, I think. Raise funds now and we can decide how to use it when the bowl game is announced. Maybe send 1 to Hawaii, or 10 to Annapolis. If we don't get enough to make it feasible, refund the money.

Uh, that could be a lot of work.

Last time we collected about $3500 in about 10 days. I don't know if we need an entire month to get this done.

Do you guys have any UConn students selected? I am a senior at Storrs and avid fan (as evidenced by being on the BY)

Send them meaning what? Tickets fine. Sending via air to Marlins Park? NFW. Let 'em hitchhike or take the bus. The millenials are a soft cushy spoiled lot

Nice reply Jungle Husky. So soft you cannot take some sarcasm?
Simple question and observation. You would have been rolled in my day, and of course, respectfully.

In a thread about fans pitching together to send some students to represent UConn at a bowl game, bitching about the kids these days does not come off as playful sarcasm, it comes off as dickishness. But whatever.

Old guys way past their prime have been complaining about the younger generation being since time immemorial. WWII guys said it about your generation. I'm sure Teddy Roosevelt thought the youngsters in his time were soft and spoiled. And so on all the way back to the Romans. Who gives a *.

Jesus. In my best Aaron Rogers.... R E L A X Original post didn't read as sarcasm and then you double down by calling someone out as soft? R E L A X We did this for the Fiesta Bowl and imagine this, people enjoyed giving during the season of giving and for being thankful.
