I don't think these are bad. I mean they pretty much kept to the colors, just added a slight bit of bronze to the trim. Not really sure it gives a vibe of "strength and integrity and inspiration" so much as it is hard to find a color that goes with black and orange, but that is just me, I guess.

I don't much care for the stylized beaver, either, but again, its a beaver. You can either go realistic, stylized or cartoon. They went with option 2. It is fine for what it is. I think you might have a few more options with a husky.

UConnFamily, explain to me how grey is a UConn color again? Because Basketball got paid to wear some uglyass grey uniforms for a game or two?

And I guess I don't get the multiple helmets. I think you can mess all you want with shirts and pants, but in football your helmet is your identity and I hate it when you teams make all these changes such that you don't really have one.

This one sells at the Uconn store... Would you like more pics of grey being our alternate color freescooter?

I thought the grey basketball uniforms were hideous. Wouldn't want to use those as a precedent. If I recall they grey on the football uniforms was supposed to be silver, though i give you that. But you have a point I guess. I just don't love it. Rather stay with Blue and White. My preference would actually be blue with while shoulders/white with blue shoulders like they wore in the 1940s. I saw a picture somewhere on a UConn website but can't seem to find it now. They also had video of a games from the period. I thought the uniforms could be pretty cool.

I guess we all have our own preferences, but that will not change what Uconn and Nike has in store for the program.

I even seen some grey on hockey jersey's!

Go back to the opening of the RENT & the football uniform do-over by Aeropostale. Weren't the pants gray or off-silver?

From the press release: "Careful consideration was given to the unique elements of the beaver, such as its powerful, iconic teeth, and its smoothly swept back fur coat."

First time I have seen a "Beaver's smoothly swept back fur coat" spun into a positive. I mean, unless you are into that sort of thing.
That must be their "throw back / retro" beaver look. The newer modern beaver look will be hairless or maybe a nice landing strip and a piercing.

Our smiling dog logo looks antiquated now.
I hadn't seen that. As far as I know the mens team hasn't worn grey. They had a very cool "Husky Head" Uniform a few years back. White with a large red&blue trimmed Husky and red and blue trim where the blue & white is on the grey one pictured here. The current sweater is pretty bland. I don't have a problem with a little grey or a little red as an accent, but I don't really like grey uniforms. Stick to the school colors for the most part. You want to use some other color as an accent, red, silver, orange, bronze, I don't care that much. Just don't over do it.

They were supposed to be silver but looked more grey. After that they went with white though.

Still the best. Combine this with a "stylized" dog logo (doggie style, a la the beaver?) and we have a winner...

If I'm not mistaken that is the 50th anniversary uniform. Based on UConn's original one. Very nice. And very classic. That is also a great photo!

Here's the general format I'd prefer. though obviously the blues would be darker. UConn wore something similar in the late 40s, early 50s. You could add blue pants for variety. I think UConn wore blue pants with the white version of the shirt. I saw it on an old video form the alumni site, but I couldn't find it when I looked today.http://www.uniformdatabases.com/images/1950_NYYanks.png

i am not a fan of the logo really. nothing special or noticable about it. the design of the unis is good. i think those in blue black and white could work for uconn. but what they did with the beaver is a no thanks from me. i expect way worse for us. were making the huksy "more agressive" which will end up a huge fail as they wont do it right.

Agreed. I figure it will cost us 8 wins in basketball and 2 wins in football.

I like that look except for the fact it is EXACTLY THE SAME as Yale's uniforms:

Actually they are close but not the same if you see them in person. The Yale ones have different striping, and are actually a darker shade of blue. Of course the Yale ones say Yale, not Connecticut! And since they'll never wear them against each other, one team will wear white most likely, having something similar isn't that big a deal I think.

So are you saying red is one of our colors as well?

Here's the actual history For what it is worth I like red as an accent color, but neither it nor gray are our school colors.
