On Monday, Louisville coach Rick Pitino again denied that he had any knowledge that a former staffer allegedly paid for recruits and players to have sex with escorts.

"Not myself, not one player, not one trainer, not one assistant, not one person knew anything about any of this," the Hall of Fame coach told ESPN on Monday. "If anyone did, it would have been stopped on a dime. Not one person knew anything about it."

If the Yum center goes bankrupt, U. Louisville isn't on the hook. Rather, its contract with the Yum evaporates, and the next contract will be on other terms.

Correct, I believe that the city will be on the hook. I can't find the link; but, I believe the report from 2013 or so basically stated that U Louisville keeps 50% of concessions and ticket sales and only is responsible for paying the game-day operating costs of the arena and have no responsibility for the debt service of the arena. Basically, they got a brand new arena for free. Should the arena financing agency go bankrupt and the debt then transfers to the city, the existing contract is cancelled and it is possible that the city maybe able be able to seek legal recourse against the University. It's a gray area legally.

If the NCAA has confirmed that Louisville paid for such services via university/coach's/donor funds Pitino and Louisville are screwed because this in violation of NCAA rules and the law. Heck, some of these Louisville recruits were 17 when this happened. That's risk of injury to a minor possibly even statutory rape depending on Kentucky's legal definition of such. Courts take that very seriously. Winning or not, I cannot see how Pitino survives this. Jurich will also come under close scrutiny to see if he knew anything about this and his job will be on the line.

Right, the severity of what the NCAA does will come down to the money. If they find out the money came from university coffers and not McGee's pocket, UL is toast. If (I'm speculating here) they find out Pitino and Jurich knew and directly or indirectly sanctioned this, banners come down and we're looking at potentially harsh penalties we've not seen recently.

FYI, it's 16 in Kentucky, so that part is moot.

If the reports that the investigators told the players that they already know the answers and that of they dont tell the truth their eligibility is on the line no way Blakeney and others didn't tell the truth. Rick could be gone, I'm sure he doesn't want to go through another sex scandal and years of penalties at age what 64?

I'm betting he does. In absence of a direct link, he could get by on plausible deniability. Pitino is a Hall of Fame coach, and while he's not K, he might simply get institutional control violations.

I think this is Ramsey covering his ass in case new info about Pitino comes out.

The President not mentioning Pitino in his message is somewhat damning for Ricky. He mentioned he fully supported Jurich but intentionally left out Pitino. Ouch.
