So I saw on TOS that Rodney is mentioned briefly. Did I miss that convo in this thread? Did any of our other recruits visit 'Ville?
 
Hmmm, does this shed any light on how Jurich got a glorified community college into the ACC?

Hopefully (for all involved) Vance signs up pretty soon because I bet VJ King will be a free agent in the very near future.

Just a clarification. Book specifically mentions Rodney was not involved. Weird that the author would take the time to distance a player from the scandal as opposed to not mentioning him at all. But she did. Maybe he's a class kid who impressed her or maybe she likes to ride Ferraris.

I expect the NCAA to will act swiftly and with a heavy hand in this case. VJ King should be placing a call to Ollie.
 
The real question though: when was this treatment going on, in a recent timeframe? Was King himself introduced to these girls? I'd really like to know if this had any impact on the King recruitment this summer.

Edit: Pitino is now saying that if Jurich wants him to leave, he will. He can go right ahead, Rick. Happy trails!
 
If these recruits indeed indulged, aren't they in violation for accepting benefits? Will they still be eligible to play?

I'm sure Emmert will give the kids immunity to get them to roll over on Pitino. The NCAA doesn't like Pitino any more than we do.
 
Just imagine, Louisville and UNC banned from post-season playa and on probation in the same year. It's a dream; but, a happy dream at that.

I am sure some of the folks who pushed for or agreed to having Louisville join the ACC maybe having second thoughts right now. Most schools run into academic trouble from time to time. University employees hiring hookers, well that's different ball game. Maybe President Leahy up in Chestnut Hill should be doing a few 'Hail Mary's' and 'Our Father's' for making a deal with the devil.

For a second, until I realized you were talking about the president of the university, I figured this was a Palatine post.
 
This is going to get really bad for them.. with recruits backing her claims. A schools director of basketball operations providing minors with hookers on campus.... this is some serious stuff. Not only ncaa violations but very illegal as well. Going to be interesting to see if Rick survives this. Also is there a more shady name than rick or ricky? Every rick I've ever known is sketchy.

Anyone know how much McGee made as an assistant coach at Louisville? If its not much, then its not likely he can pay for 22 'events.' That means they money had to come from somewhere. If said money came from the university (no one is insane to expense that, uh, never mind, forgot about a guy named Spitzer), from the head coach's pocket (Rick is going to jail if that is the case) or a university aligned booster, the Cards are screwed. If it was all paid by the assistant, Louisville will be punished; but, Rick will survive if he 'didn't' know about it, wink, wink, and the Cards will have their fall guy.

Age of concent is 16 in KY. They aren't legally considered minors.

Love to see these columns from Forde, Bozich ...and throw Wetzel, Wodjnaroski, Brown and Eric Crawford in ... these writers who licked the wax out of Ricky Pitino's ears suddenly get Jesus. They are the big hypocrites that damned Calhoun and they lauded both Pitino and Calipari. Ate with him; bet on the horses with him; savored his good moments. Excused his under table behavior. Now, look that Bozich article.

Shame. These guys suck.

I think even lower level assistants make at least $200,000 at a school like Louisville. Probably more. I know Tom Moore made $150,000 10 years ago at UConn so that's what I'm basing my estimate on. Powell said she was paid about $10,000 over a 4-5 year period. So this isn't a lot of money and it's conceivable it could have come out of McGee's pocket.

There's also this text exchange between Powell and McGee in the book.

McGee: I'm telling you now cause we gotta talk about prices. I can't keep spitting out 200 and 250 up front. Its basketball season ... so we got some tickets ... so lets talk.

Powell: OK lets talk tickets then.

So it looks like not all the exchanges involved cash.
