ISU should have been a 1 over UNC
A few pages back there is a tweet from Sam Veccine. Says the seeding was all done before conference tournaments. If true that explains Iowa State and Auburn, UNC as #1 and not giving Big East bubble teams credit for tournament play.

They didn't even go by NET!

Indiana State was top 30.

The Mountain West were all top 30-40 and were slotted 5-10 slots lower than they should have been.

You would have gotten in but the tie breaker was “lateral quickness”

The 4th place BE team didn’t make the tournament. Thats BAD.

The 5th and 6th place teams weren’t even in the discussion.

They don’t view the BE as a power league
I wouldn't read too much into it. The Big East normally does just fine with bids and five or six tournaments ago without UConn in the league the Big East got two #1 seeds.

Based on... what??? The NCAA's own NET rating has them 5th. The closest thing to validating that number is the idiotic rankings. They're a consensus #7 team based on the Massey compilation. But somehow the committee of big brains finds them all the way down at #15. Insane.
Lack of high end wins, basically. They killed a lot of mediocre teams at home, then just rolled in the tourny (but committee had already slotted them by then).

Auburn was top 5 in both KenPom and in NET! Before today!

I don't really understand this stuff at all. It's so weird to me to force two teams who are good enough to be given 10 seeds to survive a play-in game against each other. Wouldn't it make sense for 15 or 16 seeds to be a play-in game instead of making two teams that are better than them have a play-in.
How is Michigan State in at all?
How are they a 9 need after Colorado runs the table and gets stuck in a play in. And CU had injuries in a couple of their losses. Do they pay attention to anything?

They had Auburn as the 15th team so the 3rd 4-seed, which in their mind was giving us a break.
Leaving aside the seed feeling too low, for a team that’s 5 in KenPom, 7 in the NET and 12 in the poll, Alabama is their 16, and the 1 should get the 16. There are lots of reasons to flip - but these are two teams in the same league with identical travel.

Did teams miss out on March Madness because their school doesn't play football?
That’s the hidden message. Mountain West gets 6. Why? Well next year it’s the PAC. We need to get out of here if we can.
