They want the BCS to amend their policy of only allowing 2 teams per conference into BCS bowls. This is a roadblock to conferences going to 16 teams as they will not have the same percentage access to major bowls.

What is the best way for the SEC to get this to happen? Getting rid of the Big East's AQ status would go a long way toward this happenning. To do this the SEC could do a couple of things.

1) They could just take WVU which would obviously be a major blow to the remaining BE. It would be a slower death of the BE AQ status. This assumes Missouri stays in the B-12

2) They could take WVU, but also take 1 or 2 from the SEC to go to 16 teams. This MAY force the ACC to also take from the BE which would essentially kill the conference and get much closer to 3 teams from one conference being eligible to go to the BCS. I say MAY because there is nothing that forces the ACC to add other teams even if the SEC takes a couple. They would still be at 12 teams.

3) The SEC could also sit and wait to see if the B-12 fires the death blow to the BE by taking WVU, Louisville or others.

I don't see any league agreeing to this. The ACC, Pac 12 and Big 12 would never get a second bid again if this rule was passed.

Remember when the ACC grabbed UM, VATech and BC. All the talk was about the ACC getting multiple BCS bids....:D

Difference being, SEC has the best football in the country, ACC far from it.

It can't be long until we have an all-SEC championship game.

So long as they cap their basketball teams to 2 per NCAA tournament.

It's early but Clemson and Boise are in the top 10.

If they go with 6 bowls and 12 slots here's the damage as of today.

SEC (3)
B10 (3)
B12(2)
ACC(2)
MWC(1)
P12(1)

Eliminate the BCS calcs except for the Championship Game and cap the teams per conference at 3. No AQs. FWIW, WV at 19 is the top BE team and way out of contention

1 Alabama SEC
2 Oklahoma B12
3 LSU SEC
4 Oklahoma State B12
5 Boise State MWC
6 Wisconsin B10
7 Clemson ACC
8 Stanford P12
9 Michigan B10
10 Arkansas SEC
11 Georgia Tech ACC
12 Illinois B10

Eliminate the AQs and the Congress leaves them alone.....I think that's the plot.

Capped at 3 per conference, the top12 BCS teams and no AQs

I like it. Made a similar suggestion on TOS years ago. However,if people think the coaches poll is a bit suspect now, just wait to see if this idea ever happened.
