I'd say it's debatable if Bama and MSU "should" get in but they probably will. The SEC was just not very good this season. It appears the SEC is going get 7 teams in the NCAA Tournament: South Carolina, LSU, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi State. Arkansas had a slight chance but consistently moved in the wrong direction. Obviously South Carolina is a title contender. However outside of that I’d be surprised if anyone other than LSU and Tennessee made the second weekend. The projected seedings and matchups are not favorable at all.
I think it will all come down to matchups. I get what you are saying. However I don’t care to get an extra team from a nonP5 unless they have a stronger resume than a middle of the pack P5.I'd say it's debatable if Bama and MSU "should" get in but they probably will. The SEC was just not very good this season.
I'd like to see some non P5 conferences get an extra team in the tournament over middle of the pack schools from the major spots but I am happy we will most likely be back after missing 2 straight years. It will put us on a good path back to respectability.
So that some hijacked threads can get back on topic
Mississippi State was up one at halftime then outscored Illinois 21-8 in the third quarter and held them to 1-11 on field goals. It was unreal. Great game plan by Coach Purcell and execution by the players.Impressive performance by Miss St after a very disappointing loss to A&M in the SECT
Creighton’s tough. Should be a good game.Great second half by our Lady Dawgs!!
Not sure how good Creighton is but hopefully we got our bad game out of our system in the SECT and maybe we can make a run.
Excited to see if this will carry over to Friday.
MSU looked great. If you guys continue to play like that, I would not be surprised if you make it to Greenville. I am not sure about Notre Dame without Miles.Mississippi State was up one at halftime then outscored Illinois 21-8 in the third quarter and held them to 1-11 on field goals. It was unreal. That is pretty coolLove that the other SEC WBB HCs showed their support like this.

I supported hiring Coach Novak. He did an excellent job with an incredibly difficult situation. Obviously the question of his ability to recruit in women’s basketball was too much to overcome. I was very concerned with taking a chance on Coach Purcell. He is by no means a finished product. However looking at the win-loss record and stats he is doing a very good job to date. I do agree I’d like to see where we are after a couple more years. It will be interesting to see how he can parlay this into recruiting the portal.I watched last night and thought MSU looked pretty good. My hopes for this year were the bleeding and instability would stop and the team would begin to pull itself back to the middle of the SEC and lay a foundation for the future that could attract some good players, and that happened.
I still don't have a strong opinion either way on Purcell. Hayes and J. Carter are both veterans who were productive before his arrival so they probably hid a lot of deficiencies. The true test will come next year when they are gone and we see who joins the program. I will have more of an opinion at that point.
Not to go too far back but I supported hiring Johnnie Harris when Vic left over NMP but understood why she got the job. Harris hasn't been able to get much going at Auburn but she was almost starting from scratch and will need time. The jury is probably still out on her as well.I supported hiring Coach Novak. I supported Coach McCray-Penson over Coach Harris. However as time progresses this hire doesn’t look as good. However I can’t fault the reasoning at the time. Further I’ve yet to see anything from Coach Harris that would make we wish we had her now. I do imagine it is a little awkward now working for the AD that passed over you at your former school. Not to go too far back but I supported hiring Johnnie Harris when Vic left over NMP but understood why she got the job. Novak did extremely well given the circumstances and I would have been fine with him getting the job but again, know why Purcell got it. Of course we also had the worst AD in the SEC at that point so I don't know if I trust any of his hires. However, Purcell gets a B from me this year regardless of what happens against Creighton.
Yeah I’m very happy. Creighton is a very good team that recently played very well against some elite teams. Mississippi State is playing with house money right now.Okay Mississippi State!!! I see you! Great win. I had a feeling that Creighton wouldn't have an answer for Jessika Carter, so I had you guys winning this game in my main two brackets. That wasn't quite the story but a win is a win...and a dominating one at that!
