Question is do you take the 4 best teams in the AAC or do they take top 4 money making teams on TV.

Or do they rotate us to be once every 3 years. I can see the AAC screwing this up. I don't think Big 12 and SEC want any ECU Tulsa Tulane matchups.
Surely the matches will be dictated by ESPN. So I think you'll see the four biggest brands on the AAC side.

My guess is you'll see UConn and Cincy every year. With Memphis, Wichita State, and Houston vying for the other two. Maybe an occasional Temple/UCF.

Will there be a trophy?

Only if they can find it.

Tulane has historic rivalries with many SEC schools.

(They were an SEC school once upon a time)

hmmm, espn 'owns' aac AND sec. what if down the road, the two were, dare I say it, combined? nah, that's just crazy talk...or is it? (full disclosure; sec is my favorite conference not named aac).

I wouldn't mind a relegation system -- winner of the AAC goes up to the SEC the next year and SEC bottom feeder goes to AAC. We could replace Vanderbilt in the SEC.

From earlier this year: Three ranked SEC teams sitting out Big 12/SEC Challenge

With the SEC containing 14 members and the Big 12 just 10, four SEC programs have to sit out the Challenge and play each other instead. The four SEC teams missing out are the same four that missed out a year ago, with the quartet being determined by the league's 2016-17 standings.

Two years ago, Auburn (7-11), Mississippi State (6-12), LSU (2-16) and Missouri (2-16) finished 11th through 14th in the conference race. The final four teams in this season's SEC standings will miss out on the Big 12/SEC Challenges in 2020 and 2021.

Bottom four in 2017-18 and the teams that AAC will likely face next year: South Carolina, Georgia, Vanderbilt, Ole Miss

Bottom four in 2018-19: Texas A&M, Missouri, Georgia, Vanderbilt

Frank Martin, Tom Crean, Jerry Stackhouse and Kermit Davis are 4 fun coaches. Sign me up for any of them!

Apparently ESPN/SEC have selected Memphis to play Georgia in one of the 4 games.

Yeah it sounds like ESPN is picking the American teams, not the league office.

Down year or up year, one would think we are a big enough brand nationally let alone in this league to be involved.

But no confirmation its part of the event right? Rothstein typically notes home and homes in his tweet
